Hollow.___
Squall squirmed in his captor's grasp, realizing with more and more desparation that his own life was being threatened. The little shroomy released a small root from its base, and began slowly trailing it towards the ice. If he could only reach the ice with its root, he could make an escape . . .
A glow, and his partner in conversation was consumed by their own shadow. Hollow stood in silence for a moment, as yet another opportunity for purpose was presented and loss.
He felt like he could've been disappointed. He was not. Turning about, Hollow focused his attention back on the ruins around him, far more interested in them than his attempt at a purpose - these were, after all, a new purpose of his. A new thing to study, and more information to gather.
He followed Jax's prompting, sifting carefully forward, his trailing cloak leaving no marks in the sand as he approached the dead space. In truth, he felt it, too; the potential in the air, the broken pathway here that once connected elsewhere. The question was, of course, where, and how dangerous would it be to attempt to open it?
"I feel it too, yes," he states aloud, an answer to an unspoken question. "Have you any means for accessing a broken connection? Given the right tools, while a potentially dangerous task, we could follow the connection's dead zones to its other side."

Jax
Without a moments hesitation Jax taps into the core of his power, the creation program bestowed upon him ages ago. It manifests in a simple way, no rumbling of the network or grand display. Just the fringes of his trenchcoat that churn shades of white, tan, blue, and black in rapid gradient succession.
The center of the ruin beside them warps and distorts while the old traveler raises one hand to chest height, slowing rotating his palm as he does. At the peak of rotation the rend splits open. Showing an established connection to wherever this leads. Whether the protocols could be circumvented however is another issue. Typically a non-issue with normal outernet networks.
The cycling colors in his coat settle into a slow shifting blue and tan once more. He gestures to the tear and enters himself.
The relentless smashing of the poor virus is savage! Squalls poor frame taking blow after blow put the poor thing on the brink of deletion... Righty rears back for one final headcrushing smash and... halts. It drops the viruses to the icy ground and rapidly begins swirlings around. It's fat and now somehow shrunken, orange form whipping in repeated circles with rapid speed. Eventually flinging BoB off of him... and off of the wall... and on to the beach below. The rampaging virus quickly follows and lashes out one final time to snatch the bugfrag and devour it.
It begins joyfully rolling in the sand as if nothing had happened, its rage seemingly subsided?

Jax
Bob raised his hand and the finally satisfied handy virus dispersed into particles. Accessing the virus' information BoB would find a new series of files within the beings coding. It's contents a jumbled encoded mess the builder is unable to discern. As well as an e-mail from... 'DSI'?
[To: B.O.B.] [From: Dr.Burton, DSI R&D] [Subject: An invite!] We've been keeping tabs on your research. Nice progress, very nice. What do you say we cooperate on a project? If you're interested don't bother replying, just show up here when you get time.
Oh and, here. You must be confused about what happened to your little guy and that code might look jumbled. Here. We've seen this before.
[Attached file: Coordinates to DSI in Sharo]
{Attached file: Your Handy Virus} [487858]<Handy> GS Passive/Active Hidden Skill *The virus has reached critical mass. It becomes suffused with bugged data that peppers its skin and augments its abilities. However, it's hunger for bugfrags becomes unsatiable and obssessive. Often lashing out at anything it can when not left to feed.
[This hidden trait varies from virus to virus.] --- -Passive- +1 turn to any advanced forms(Hypermode, Darksoul, etc) not granted by this trait. +1 use to all skills. +1 Bug element level. Signature attack gains Glitch at no cost, and loses other elements and becomes Bug.
At the end of each battle, owner must feed 2 bugfrags to virus per use of the active portion of this skill or it becomes locked and the owner must battle their own virus. (Virus heals 50% of its health, is cured of all status ailments and the active portion of this skill becomes active until the end of battle. Owner is NOT healed in this way. Win, virus becomes tame again. Lose, and well...)
-Active- *The yellow specs of bugged data flare an intensely deep almost green shade and <virus> releases a burst of immense pressure.* --- Upon activation, +1 skill use to [Time Bomb] While active, [Time Bomb] becomes [Bug Bomb](including active bombs), and if triggering [Detonate] causes the "Glitch" status damage to be 3 times as effective.(Choose 3 glitches) Premature detonation causes all active bombs to detonate instead of one, and at full damage. +50% damage dealt.
Gains access to the [Break Shockwave] attack.
-Break Shockwave- S-attack Bug element *<Handy> slams the ground and a torrent of purple energy rips apart the ground infront of it.* --- # damage, unomnidodgeable, breaks unbreakable shields, ignores armor, hits all, Glitches, Regardless of success: The current stage becomes [Broken] for 2 turns.
[1 turn cooldown]
[Lasts for 3 turns] [x1 use]

Hollow.___
Hollow watched as the other suddenly made way, utilizing some sort of power within them - a power that Hollow could feel, even as it didn't make any show of force - to open a large gateway.
The dangers were very evident, but, Hollow wanted to explore further. It wouldn't be his first trip into an unknown world, and, so, with the shift of his hands, he called back his viruses to his personal Pocket Network, his Shroomy and Twins disappearing, both, into voids of darkness, as Hollow himself jumped into the tear in the fabric of reality after the other world walker.

With effort, Jax manages to at last access the portal hidden within the ruins and pass through, moving on to where it leads as Hollow follows closely behind.

"That's where you're wrong..." Finale replied to Legacy. Legacy would find his voice to be almost soothing, in dissonance to the smaller navi's actions and tone. The commander's voice fell off, growing smaller and more silent as he backed away from Legacy, being forced to deal with the viruses that had now turned on him.
He would turn to his side, on a profile too thin for the spinning anchor to hit him. The chain clinked and shook as Finale reached out his hand and caught the end of it. Finale lifted the anchor the from its chain, like a hunter his prize. He turned again, calmly, facing the direction of the bamboo darts. Each incoming shard of sharpened bamboo would clang and bounce away from the makeshift shield.
"My will is the will of my Master. No more, no less." Finale would answer Legacy's question, having taken the time in combat to consider his words. He had failed to explain things properly to Embera, something that was eating at him, giving him butterflies in his stomach. If only the data read had went through, and master hadn't disappeared in that moment...
Unlike Finale's internal worries, bubbles were easy enough to deal with. A simple slicing slash dispelled and popped the bubbles. Finale was acutely aware of data dripping down his face, the smell of iron washing away all of Finale's other senses. At some point during the dive underwater, his linen eye-patch had fallen away. Now, only the painted on shadows of his admiral's hat protected his secret...
It made him take into consideration if he should use that power. Who would be the best target? Was it even worth using? The risks of agitating that wound...
Thoughts trailed off into oblivion as Finale received a message. "Yes, I know. Understood." With a sigh, Finale looked about himself. The navi he had just saved had been here just a moment ago and now - a yes, once again he was a corpse. Finale threw up his hands in frustration and sighed.
It was decided then.
He dove downwards, towards Leviathan's armored phenomenon form. "If anything, you're getting in my way." He sparked his blade once more, seemingly ready to slash at Leviathan. Expecting a block given his speed, Finale spun mid-air. Legs against the guard, he would try and kick off, rushing towards Piano's aid.
Again.

On a normal person, the pain of falling meters from the sky down the solid deck of a ship would be insurmountable... but this was the Internet, and there were a lot of abnormal people in it. Piano, for one, felt nothing of the pain of falling meters from the sky down the solid deck of a ship, primarily because his mind was incapable of feeling so.
For a few seconds, he lay there with his eyes open, staring blankly at the rest of a broken ship's deck in front of him. It looked undamaged from this angle, disregarding everything else in front of him that was collapsing or in flames.
He turned his body to lay face-up on the deck. Had the sky always been this grey? Piano tried asking Finale in his mind, but it seemed that that connection got dropped along with his body. It felt like the sky was a bit darker when he came here... Maybe it was that miniature sun of a woman's energy that made him fail to notice.
For some reason, his neck itched at the thought of that woman. He didn't know why.
They're shrouded by something big. His sense of space now coming back to him confirmed it too. His five total of eyes and 'eyes' got to confirming how wide it was exactly. Splitting viewpoints converged in his head to create a panorama. Then, his system got to correlating all present creatures' locations with the motion of the barrier.
There wasn't quite a blatant correlation with any of them, aside from two entities sucking in energy from it, but the source of the barrier could still be anything... Maybe right at the center of it.
The center... The center, the center, the center... With the concept in mind and his body healed, Piano rose his torso up and was about to stand up... when he realized that his right leg was torn through by a metal shard. Quite colourless data leaked out of the hole it made, sprinkling on the deck like glass bits. Since the shard was sharp enough, Piano crawled back and let the shard slice through his leg and out through his foot, freeing him from it. After a few more seconds, he stood up. His eyes scanned throughout the sea and the ship carcasses, looking for the center of it all.
It was then that a window popped up in front of him... Another newsletter? It was from Inter-Network News this time. Piano's hand hovered around the window, trying to remember where to click to close it again...

The Volt Kurageil once again moves around deftly, this time dropping into the water once again with a great splash before emerging once again in front of Finale. It stares at him for a moment in silence before rising into the sky above all in the area and disappearing, leaving the network without causing any real damage.

Kicking off of Leviathan, Finale found himself in conversation with Volt K, winds whipping about him as he made a full stop. "Finally." Finale said, to seemingly no one in particular. He grabbed a hold of the Volt Kurageil as it made its exit, looking down on the battlefield. It was anti-climactic, having to leave like that. Zooming off, he sighed, a bit of sadness coming through his being. The destruction was regrettable. He felt bad for the poor navis that had arrived to fight him, only for him to disappear at the last minute. Having a moment of silence, he worried in particular about Piano, who seemed to be in a bad spot. Silently Finale hoped that he'd be alright. He also considered Embera... now that the mission was complete, perhaps he could explain to her... although he was unsure she'd ever understand. He was even a little afraid. He waved off at his 'enemies', in almost a too friendly manner. Disappearing into the clouds above. As he rose, he cut into the clouds, the silhouette of his airship shadowing the moon. The barrier slowly faded away, and except for the wreckage, there became a strong quiet. A silent disappointment. Things were done that had to be done. Now it was over. {Continued in After Action Report: The Coming Flood} [R001]-[5-10-2018]-[The Coming Flood]: +65exp, +650z

Piano had finally pressed the right button, and the popup closed. He turned around and noticed the sudden silence of it all. The viruses were no longer there; neither the giant jellyfish or that monochrome virus. The sky was dark again.
He scratched his head. Was it all an illusion? He glanced at the wreckage he stood on. Maybe part of it was?
What was it he was trying to solve? Something about the center of...
He stood there on the deck of a broken ship, staring at nothing.

"Well congratulations. Not only are you a child, but you're a mindless one despite that absurd display before." Legacy replied in monotone as he watched Finale move on, having lost interest in the navi. He was far more interested in the massive jellyfish. The movements it displayed before weren't ordinary... It would make for an interesting opponent and experiment.
Well, at least it WOULD have.
Within moments, apparently it had concluded its business of swimming about then left along with Finale. They probably finished whatever the distraction was meant to cover then promptly left, leaving little but wreckage, silence and disappointment. Legacy pointed his rifle forlornly at the spot Volt Kurageil had been at before suddenly leaving.
"...I could have just ignored the brat. Nobody would have minded. Nobody." He grumbled to himself, hovering over the wreckage of the armada. "I give a verbal warning out of good will before sinking their flagship, I'm subjected to whatever THAT was... The same brat then has gall to complain about not wanting to fight, I overlook THAT too... Oh he'll be missed if he perished. That navi's master, whoever that crazy lass was, so many people. I MISS HIM ALREADY! Quick little bastards..." Legacy continued sarcastically griping as he flew, unable to properly vent his frustration without a suitable target.
