After recent events, the net has become a very dark place. Grim, as some would say. The usual sounds of birds chirping would not be present in the forest network on this day. Nor would the sky be blue, or the sun be shining. No, this day, the sky would be darkened by clouds as a mist settled into the network.
In fact, if one were to listen carefully, the voice of a girl could be heard. Of course, most who ventured closer to this voice did not make it back to the safety of another network, having to be reloaded through their backup data. The voice generally sang nursery rhymes, and most who heard it would run. On this day, the girl two whom the voice belonged happened to be sitting under a tree. She was taking a nap after she had just caught a fly in her web.
Of course, she wasn't exactly an arachnid in any regard. In all reality, her way of summoning her prey to her was more akin to the Siren of Greek myths. During this nap, the girl dreamt of many things all at once. These dreams didn't make a whole lot of sense, but neither did there owner, if one were to hear her speak.

Darkness... Stillness... Silence...
Despite all three of these words describing the forest area, a lone figure advanced forth through what others would likely avoid.
...until she came to an abrupt halt.
With her senses on high alert, the female navi's lavender irises pierced the darkness for a moment...she apparently thought she heard something. Something...rather out-of-place, given the situation.
Utilizing the area instead of just walking out in the open, Doomistra seemed to meld into the shadows as if they were water, leaving only her purple eyes visible and faintly illuminated by her electric element.
Shifting around as silently as a shadow virus, she glanced about, in the unlikely event that what she heard was neither navi nor virus...

Something had prematurely woken the girl from her nap. Not literally, but in the sense that she woke up due to a perceived change in the network. Rubbing her eyes, to emulate the most human of behaviors, the girl happened to notice that another Navi had popped up on her doorstep.
After standing up, she would start walking towards them, while holding a knife behind her back. After creeping up behind them, she would announce herself.
"Hi! Can we be friends? The last few didn't want to be friends. They tried to leave. They tried to make me leave too. I didn't want to leave. Will you be my friend? I'm sure that we can have all sorts of fun together. Oh, and how do you make your eyes glow like that? I wish I could do that!"
Her energy was something that most would not expect, especially from someone that they had just met. Still, if one were to pay attention, they might find that something seemed a bit off about this particular Navi.
"Oh, don't get me wrong, I can leave the network whenever I want to. I just haven't wanted to because I haven't been able to find a friend here yet."

'Hm...quite a sneaky one...' Doomistra thought to herself, as the unfamiliar navi approached in an odd manner.
Something in her tone caught Doomistra's attention for sure - talk of 'friends' yet 'they tried to leave'...? In her mind that only meant one or two things...others too picked up on something odd about this navi...or they were deleted.
But this seemed to bring up questions in her mind...or to at least test her, in a way.
"Hm. Sorry to hear you haven't found any friends. This doesn't seem like much of a place to seek new ones though..." Doomistra said thoughtfully. "But if you don't mind me asking, stranger..."
She paused, vanishing into the shadows and reappearing a few feet away from her previous spot, still enveloped in a shadow-like form.
"What is a friend in your eyes?" Doomistra questioned, her eyes sparking with electricity as she raised her awareness of the area. At the same moment, the mistress of shadows seemed to perform a quick scan of the 'friendseeker'...and the her 'little friendmaker' that was concealed.

"Oh, well, for starters, someone who likes to have fun. Oh, and someone who isn't afraid of my stabby friend. I mean, it's not like I can just walk around without anything to protect myself with. Oh, and someone who doesn't judge my methods of protecting myself. I mean, after all, sometimes the bad guys bring friends with them and those friends usually end up needing to be taught a lesson. So, I usually end up having fun with whoever attacks me until their friends learn from their mistake. Then, I have a little more fun. But sometimes I get tired of that, and end up all alone. The friend I need is someone who won't leave me alone, who will have my back, and isn't afraid to look the other way when I need to indulge myself. Because let's face it, every now and then, it feels good to do what you're not supposed to do."
As she spoke, the girl revealed her knife, before stowing it in a sheath that happened to be attached to her leg, just above her thigh. The girl wasn't really little at all, her voice just tended to give that illusion.
"Oh, right, I haven't even introduced myself. I generally don't get the chance to do so. Most of the time when I'm seen, people either attack or run before I can."

Listening attentively from within her shadow veil, Doomistra remained silent, analyzing the young girl's words...
As she revealed her concealed weapon, which Doomistra had already gotten a scan of - or at least identified it as a weapon of sorts - the lavender-eyed one was taken aback. By what? Not by something off in the distance, but by the fact that the girl was more of a woman, like herself.
'Wow. How did I not notice that...?' she pondered to herself. But this brought something else to mind - the art of only letting others hear or see what you want them to - an art she still needed to master.
"Hmm...I see. Sorry to hear people are so quick to flee from you. You don't seem to be that bad of a person. And self-defense is generally excusable..."
...at least, to a certain extent it was.
A part of the woman's speech caught her attention though and piqued her curiosity a bit...
"By 'indulge yourself', you mean like your 'playtime' as you alluded to...? What do you do - pick apart badguys?" Doomistra asked, almost jokingly but not quite. However, she did catch the part about 'doing what you shouldn't do'...
It was almost as if the woman's words only bred further questions in Doomistra's mind.

"I'm Seraph! Oh, and I only meant that every now and then, I need to get some practice in with Mr. Stabby. Don't worry, though. I don't practice on my friends.... unless they do what my last friend did and try to attack me."
At this point, Seraph stopped and rubbed her forehead.
"He attacked me after I had finished off a bad guy. Because in his eyes, I had gone too far. But, I mean, how far am I going to get in this world if I just let everyone off with an easy deletion? Sometimes examples have to be made...I choose to make examples of everyone that tries to hurt me...and those that judge that decision negatively....and anyone who tries to take Mr. Stabby away from me."
As Seraph spoke, her voice fluctuated in both pitch and amplitude. And there may have been a bit of laughter mixed in as her eyes changed from black to red, and then back to black.
"So, wanna be friends? I could really use a friend right now, it's been a while since I had a friend that I can trust not to stab me in the back. So, what's your name?"

"Well, a little restraint does go a long way..." Doomistra said thoughtfully, as if taking in Seraph's words. She rubbed her chin as she thought things over a bit, while listening to the woman before her too.
"Oh! I'm Doomistra, by the way. Nice to meet you." the electric-shadow said, flashing a smile that seemed to almost shine through the shadows.
"Back to the other matter at hand..." Doomistra said with a pause, dwelling on Seraph's words some more. "Eh...an 'easy deletion' is all most need...though I suppose there are some cases where more might be necessary...maybe."
But when she thought about it, what kind of instances would that be...? When would a torturous deletion be deemed 'right' from the side of 'good'...?
She could feel a sudden conflict within her if she fully agree with this woman...a conflict that she certainly didn't like.
"But you know, I'm sure no-one would mind you twisting Mr Stabby in a virus that's up to no good, though. It doesn't have to necessarily be a navi to...sate your thirst, right?"
Though she had to admit, a lot of people would argue that fighting viruses all the time and only going 'all out' against viruses would be more of a hindrance than helping one grow.
Seeking a path here that would appeal to Seraph and yet one that she herself agreed to fully was proving...moderately difficult.

"I mean... viruses normally don't do much that they are not programmed to do. However, if they threaten the area that I am in, then yes, I would make an example of them in place of a Navi. Oh, that reminds me, I already practiced with Mr. Stabby this month, so nothing to worry about until next month. Oh, does this mean that we can be friends?"
Seraph's eyes seemed to be glitching as they rapidly changed between black and red whilst she spoke. Once again, the pitch of her voice would waver from high to low as well.
"I would be really happy to have you as a friend. This is the longest conversation I've ever had with another Navi, since most don't get past introductions. They usually end up calling me crazy, as well, but I'm not. I just have a voice in my head that tells me what to do and when it's time to do it."
Seraph couldn't help but giggle at the fact that she was actually conversing with someone other than herself or her knife.
"So, what brought you to the forest network? I mean, it's not every day that someone makes their way out here."

"Hmm..." Doomistra said, materializing a small green wisp of electricity and twirling it with her index finger as she pondered for a moment.
When it seemed she had made up her mind, the electrical wisp simply crackled out of existence, leaving little sparks of harmless energy in its place.
"Sure! Let's be friends, Seraph!" Doomistra replied with a smile.
As the other female navi explained the other voice in her head, Doomistra nodded. After all, everyone had a voice in their head, in one way or another.
As seraph inquired as to exactly what brought her to this Network in particular, Doomistra took a glance around before returning to face Seraph.
"No particular reason. it's a nice area for a walk, I think. Just a light stroll." the lightning-wielder spoke, almost in a carefree manner.
