PlagueMan.ERR
The PlagueMan underground was intent on helping the little virus it had discovered, finding itself alike to the struggling little creature. Moving its legs back and forth, PlagueMan took his opportunity while piercing its barrier to supplement his healing just a bit more, letting a little bit of his collective slip in to heal it.
Above ground, PlagueMan was watching as more and more people gathered, and felt himself sigh in relief when Genesis noted that he was going to protect rather than reject. Stirring within the Onyx Overlord, he took another precursory glance around the environment, looking to keep his host informed of anything that changed, when, suddenly, he felt that same oppressive force crash down upon him.
The lag on his systems was felt two-fold by all of those that he was bonded with: the crushing siphon of his systems was felt by the little virus underground, Mary, Embera, and, most importantly, Genesis. Feeling his systems lag and drawl forced some part of him to pay more attention to his resources, and a powerful function within his code noticed that his collective was really, really small right now. The same function within his code that was designed to ensure survival and check his surroundings for all the things that could protect him, key among them being other members of his collective.
The collective underground suddenly turned red as the alpha reworked his attention yet again. The red cloud of energy around Genesis intensified in the same moment, the collective preparing to defend itself against whatever this was, and to rectify its weakened state. It all started with a few stray red motes trickling out of Genesis' form, and a similar occurrence underground, the humanoid collective condensing down into a large, sphere-like shape of corrupted data. Each of the stray red motes began rapidly multiplying, the single motes spawning more strands of corrupted data. Every second, the small motes became larger collection of data that looked more like the original that Genesis housed within him, and more single points of data were collected.
The large conglomerate of collected data hung in the air, causing the air to become dense with the static it generated. Within a few seconds, the little individual members began moving about, darting after the collected Navis with but one goal: To attach to their systems and increase the resources Pandemic had to survive.
Down below, the field of static that PlagueMan exuded to degrade the world around him became more intense, the singular collective crashing its power upon Mary and the little virus, the very Net around him slowly degrading with each passing second as his intensity and vehemence peaked.
The PlagueMan program was panicking due to a lack of resources, because it was suddenly forced to recognize that its resources were being attacked. At his core, the PlagueMan program was not the PlagueMan program.
It was the Pandemic.

#s://i~postimg~cc/7LJkkG2V/image~png In full honesty, K-414 didn’t particularly care who or what had attacked New Life. The fact remained that it had been attacked- things like ‘revenge’ or such similar sentiments merely didn’t sit within the lupine program’s data for very long. All things considered, whoever had done it had the strength to do it, and New Life should have been better defended. These two had survived, and to that, K-414 believed that the others involved should have as well, if they were strong enough.
It wasn’t like it couldn’t be rebuilt. Even with the server weirdness going on, there were many navi and programs that were programmed for such tasks. It would take them very little time at all in order to get the project done. The brute supposed that the destruction and devastation might be upsetting to some that had more complex AI structures, but K-414 wasn’t among them. To him, it was clear that if it was destroyed then it should be rebuilt, and that was the end of it.
He could feel Richard being ready to respond to Genesis’ words… when the sudden feeling washed over them. To K-414, who was a walking quarantine of broken, damaged data, such a thing was not helpful. Not at all. As soon as it hit, its regenerative powers, the part of its program that involved its code being rewritten several times per second to ensure no anomalies, was slowed to a crawl as it seemed as if its energy were being sapped.
Various anomalies began to appear all over the program’s avatar, broken bits of code showing for brief moments before being replaced by something else entirely. With PlagueMan’s sudden approach as well, it would have no doubt had been able to get into the program’s data…
Of course, as it faded, and the natural processes of the beast began to trigger once more, the data that had been breaking through the surface of its body being quarantined once more, anything anomalous no longer being visible on its form. ”What the hell was that?” the beast growled, claws twitching as it glared at the others, curious if they had been the cause.

Mary grimaced. That feeling again? No.. this time it was different.. as it subsided she turned to look over her head. Lo and behold, the culmination of bugs was going haywire.
I'm done babysitting.
With a mighty leap, Mary jumped back up through the hole she hadn't long fallen from. It was still too dark to really tell if anything was there.
"Alright then. If something's here, now is your chance to show yourself."
Materializing her old warfare machine gun and starting at the left side of the room, she began spraying bullets to the right side of the room to create a brief enough light source each shot to see anything a little better.

*The plan right now was about to be something he called simple, except he got a nice surprise from the machine that was here until it stopped. Except since he had PlagueMan, he felt it further. Like gravity but not... so that was how it worked. If he wasn't accustomed to a large number of things the surprise would have made him buckle, but instead it was mostly unpleasant. Is that how they kept the Life Virus contained under the city then? It was good that he did, as Embera leaning on him didn't cause him to lose his footing. And then after that was PlagueMan's outbreak. At first it wasn't a problem, but then he recognized that this wasn't like how PlagueMan usually went about his ways.*
"This is..."
*It must have been closer to the programming that he used before for why he was everywhere. Like that he didn't have to worry about resources, but he had been forced to isolate himself because of the backlash he could cause as a viral weapon. Attacking it would do the opposite of appeasing it and the opposite of getting it under control. No one had yet so that was good. In which case he would go about the motions and see which worked first. Worst case scenario, the others would have to purge a bit of a contamination.*
"PlagueMan, calm down. Nothing is threatening your survival or attacking you. The device was simply designed to keep something bound down. We can assume those were its last sparks of life."

Out of Character The crippled shambling virus skitters to a stop, resigned to its fate... and then Plaguemans healing code takes hold. The virus steadily regrowing its lost limbs. A slow process, but happening all the same. It remains oblivious to the hostile swarm that is plagueman.
Mary, meanwhile, peppered the edge of the corridor to create small blips of light. The sounds of her gunfire masking a faint noise from a different source... yet its source quickly make itself apparent. As a large cube of ice came hurdling down the corridor. Large enough to engulf the entire hall and leave no room for diving out of the way!
Back top-side...
*klang klang kchunk* A faint banging noise, familiar to Genesis but foreign to the others. From a tough looking door in the rubble. It pops open. The navi who had reshut the door bursts out and up onto a debris pile. A blaster gun shakily in one hand, and a shield in the other. He strikes a daring pose and points frantically in all directions.
W-where's the Life Virus?! I felt the T3SP activate and then stop! That can't happen! If it does the beast will get free and then we're all DOOMED!

PlagueMan.ERR
The pulsating flares of bugged energy slowly died down as the collective swarmed about, noticing that, despite its energy dropping, it was not harmed, nor had it lost any critical resources. The large conglomerate of corrupted masses did nothing more than to further reduce his resources, actually, and, without the Pandemic program flying into full swing - why couldn't it? - it would remain a detriment to his resources.
The large masses of red data began trickling away, the processes keeping them replicating shutting down, and the corrupted data sizzled and burned away, eating itself away, byte by byte, and the weight they pressed into the air sizzled away with it.
PlagueMan stirred within Genesis, a much more proper buzzing within Genesis' thoughts. "Genesis . . . I'm . . . I'm sorry. I lost myself for a moment," he managed, the last of his collective still sizzling out into the air around him. Strange, how he did not feel the remorse and pain of each of them, this time. He did his best to take his mind off of that, looking around at the other people gathered, and was horrified for a moment at the thought of having hurt any of them. He checked where his resources were spread, and noted that the only thing that he was currently infecting was . . .
. . . the little virus beneath the city, slowly healing from its wounds. PlagueMan stretched closer towards the virus, this clone still very much connected to the hivemind, and watched as it started to repair itself. "I have found this thing beneath the streets, Genesis. Can you see it through my feed?"

#s://imgur~com/vukjZKC~jpg Klaxon alarms... They had sounded just before New Life went down. The sudden shift had smacked her around quite a bit. When she awoke, she found herself trapped in what was essentially a cage made from steel, and smoke, and rubble. The view screens were broken, the doors were jammed, and she had no way to tell just how far up or down she was. She cried out, as loudly as she could, hoping that someone would hear her. And yet, something inside her told her that nobody would. Her first obstacle was the smoke that obscured her vision. The red lights,a few of them were still on, still rotating. However, the alarm had stopped sounding. In order to clear the smoke, the Navi mustered what energy she could, and harnessed it towards aquagenesis, flooding the room in a matter of minutes. Now that she could see, she could manage to figure out which room she was in. She remembered running around before everything went South, trying to help some of the less capable navis escape, but now she found herself in a far less hospitable environment, regardless of how familiar it seemed. While the screens did not work, her rank afforded her direct access to the system, and she sent a voice message as best as she could. Some channels would merely transmit static. However, if one were to properly tune in, they would see a hologram of a rather aquatic looking Navi, and hear the following. "This is Captain Leviathan, of the NeONB. If anyone is out there, we have been attacked. I am currently trapped in a room that I cannot escape from within New Life. As much as I hate to say this, if anyone is listening, and able, your assistance would be greatly appreciated." With that, she signed off, and set the recording to repeat itself in the hopes that someone might find it. In the meantime, she found a pipe, and started tapping on it.

#s://static~zerochan~net/Altair~%28Re%3ACreators%29~full~2104727~jpg Ice..?!
Without hesitation, Mary unleashed a gatling of sabers, all aimed for the center of the ice block. She finished off with a circle of sabers striking close to the edges of the ice cube at the same time, attempting to slow down or stop it.

#s://i~postimg~cc/7LJkkG2V/image~png As the gravity-like feeling began to fade, K-414 glanced from Embera to Genesis, seeming like he wanted to ask them if they had any idea what this was, but given by Embera's reaction and then Genesis' own... he imagined that neither of them did either. However, yet again, the Onyx Overlord began to speak to someone that wasn't present. At least, as far as K-414 was concerned, K-414 didn't see it. He had seen the blips of data, corrupted and dangerous, floating around, but they had begun to fade.
K-414 had no knowledge of these two, nor PlagueMan either, so aside from the irregularities his sensors were beginning to pick up on, there was little information that he had to act upon, with thep air of them here. Anomalous data was all around them, confounding his normal senses.
The brute was about to speak, when a nearby bunker-like door was tossed open, a navi coming out a moment later. The anti-virus program snorted. "I already dealt with the Life Virus," he growled. Quit your whining."

*He could officially say that had better results than he was expecting. If only because he was more accustomed to words failing him all the time. So he was glad that he tried it first this time instead of going for force instead. Even if often times it served as the great equalizer and spoke louder than anything else, he shook his head in response to PlagueMan. Since he was buzzing in his thoughts, Genesis would reply there instead of out loud again, eyes looking downward in response to the feed he was paying attention to now.*
"It's nothing to worry about. We've all had times where we've lost ourselves. It helps us better prepare for it next time if we learn from it when we do. Also, I can see it now. If you can mend it, we can take it with us. We're also taking the machines with us if you can. I can assist with that too."
*The virus he could see through PlagueMan's feed was a largely uncommon one. Of course the reason to that was because the Life Virus wasn't always active either. It wasn't as dangerous as its maker, but all things considered they could probably just take it with them too. Embera was better at taking care of them because she had plenty of experience, but he would see what he could do about it, looking to the panicking one who finally helped himself out. Well, at least he wasn't terrified enough and found a way out.*
"Next time, be a bit more cautious about where you hide it. I shouldn't have to tell you this."
*There was a place to put everything. No one would have thought it would be underneath the city, but the city got attacked enough as it were that it was still a bad call. Bayside or Element City were off-limits if you wanted to keep something hidden in Electopia for too long. Aqua Net or one of the others was a hiding spot that could last a while longer. Taking their lost machine with them was also fair game now. Wouldn't be the first time he took technology meant for the ONB or its variants and kept it for himself. That said... it wasn't what he was here for, but more than likely it was the best they were going to get. So he went about sending a message to someone, though given how many people he had to send them to, it was probably obvious who it was going to.*
"But we've been here long enough too. Minus Embera who just got here, anyway. But we can catch up after we reach our next destination."

Out of Character (The number of tangents is growing. You monsters.)
Plagueman reaches out and touches the leg of the creature. It twitches instinctively but does not otherwise move. Seemingly receptive to the gesture of the bugged swarm.
Mary finds no difficulty in shattering the cube. Her prowess, despite the wounds, too much for the wimpy block. Among the clattering of ice chunks the militant navi can clearly hear the frantic scraping of heavy pins on metal and a light hissing sound.
What do you mean?! The Life Virus is the ultimate life form! It can't be beaten by something as simple as brute force from a mere navi! The scientist states this believing it fact.
Down in his cubby chamber of maximum weaponry there was a crackling noise that lasted a mere 20 seconds and then went silent... and then repeated. While faint those with keener sensors like the K-unit would likely pick it up.
Leviathans communication goes unanswered. Alone she is in the room of the fallen New Life. The flooded room her only solace, the tapping her only sanity retaining hobby... As the hours passed she would notice that the water level had decreased notably...

*Embera was glad that Genesis finally decided to split. Seeing Genesis take some machinery, Embera grabbed whatever computing terminals she could get her hands on and tore them out of their couplings and slung them over her shoulders.*
Embera: Okay, this should be stuff we can look through, I guess. Let's head back to The Heap. there's so much we gotta talk about.
*And, on cue, Embera set out to the volcanic region.*

#s://static~zerochan~net/Altair~%28Re%3ACreators%29~full~2104727~jpg Mary's expression had quickly become one of anger. She grasped a saber tightly and took a few steps forward, swinging at the air to make a point.
"WHOEVER IS IN HERE, COME OUT AT ONCE!!"
She held her saber forward at the end of her command.

PlagueMan.ERR
PlagueMan looked up instinctively as Genesis noted that they were leaving, and turned back to look at the virus he was nursing. They had been here a while, and PlagueMan was starting to once again feel the pressure of the destruction and mayhem caused here. He, too, was ready to leave.
Reaching forward, the collective wrapped itself around the virus, swarming around it and coercing it into its data stream. Compressing the code of the virus within its own mass, the ball of bugged data winked away, floating as a large sphere of energy next to Genesis. Closer to the original PlagueMan, the little ball of red data fluctuated slightly, and presented it itself to Genesis to hold.
"Let us go, then," the collective echoed, the voice seeming to come from the ball of data just as much as it was from Genesis.

#s://i~postimg~cc/7LJkkG2V/image~png K-414 snorted as Genesis began to lift some of the machinery that was here. This was the ONB containment unit... and as far as K-414 was concerned, he could do with it what he wanted. He had no affiliation to the ONB. If the Onxy Overlord wanted that machinery, that was his choice- K-414 didn't have any agency in what was done with it.
As the other navi, the one with gun and shield, began to give an outcry, K-414 grunted. "Where the hell do you think we're standing? This is its containment. I dealt with it. Go watch the news," the anti-viral program growled, the hackles on his back beginning to stand on end as this other began to indicate that he hadn't. As far as K-414 knew, he had- there was nothing in his data that would indicate anything different. He was about to start laying into the man when his sensors picked up something from that bunker the other had just come out of.
He nearly took a step forward when he heard Embera speak. "Fine," he growled. Richard had wanted to make sure that they were okay. That these two were aware and good to move... and they were. He didn't need to 'rescue' them if they were already up and moving around, and as such, he began to put them out of sight and out of mind. However, as the bugged data began to appear near Genesis, the brute paused. "Richard, I'm tagging this as anomalous...but not a virus." The beast's virtual body tensed, and flecks of frost began to cover its hide.
R.A.M.: Stand down, 414. Check your data. It's not a threat.
After the last...encounter between K-414 and PlagueMan, Richard had taken steps to ensure that such an altercation wouldn't happen a second time. While initially his sensors made him curious, as he checked again, he realized that Richard was correct- this was nothing he need worry about...and the frost began to fade. "Understood," the brute growled. Had it been a virus that he could sense, not even Richard could have stopped him from carrying out his programming.
Instead...his gaze flickered over to the bunker that was still open. "You seem to know a good bit about this Life Virus..." K-414 growled as he approached, claws itching as the topic of the Life Virus was brought back up...and the memories of that combat started to come to mind...
