It was like that time at Saul Kada when Genesis was face to face with his own sword. That was a weapon he had used for years as an extension of himself. But this served to show that he did still have it in him to do the things they hoped he could. Then once again he wasn't wrong.
"Good. So you can forgive yourself after all. But this is fitting."
To cut down what once was for what would be. Now came doing it and finishing what he came here for. He wasn't surprised that he was going to resist, because that was what he always did. He would resist for all the wrong reasons when he could do what was the proper action instead. Because he lacked vision and belief besides what his eyes could tell him. And that was fine as this world was filled with people like that. And while Serix was going on about something he had no clue over, he had some work to do. Since he was using his own power in that set it meant that he would meet him head on instead. It would take a bit longer given what both had, but Rosso would have to adjust thanks to that as well.
"Angbar Ragvell."
The sword in his hand seemed to respond to that call, as the flames around it surged and took on a silver sheen instead to adjust for what it needed to do. And so he swung the blade that had brought about most of the end of Rammount in each swing, that self-same power explosively increasing as he aimed to incinerate Resonance in a flurry of swings unlike earlier. Whatever he was waiting for had come and gone, so now he was back on his full offensive again. And in the process turned the rose to ashes that had got in the way.
"And you can just die along with your fun."
-
Right after Richard spoke, the signal increased. Six green legs, three on each side that connected to a brownish-red hub like a spider, a glowing orange orb in its center. A sort of black substance crept up from there and could even be seen attached to the legs, making it look like its body was armor on top of it. A green chest that was slightly elongated, it had two elongated shoulders that were brownish-red as well, a pointed yellow gem on both with arms attached to the side of those shoulders by another shoulder in a strange twist, large white spikes jutting out of them as another brownish-red piece attached the rest of the arm with itself, namely the massive hands more than the size of its lower torso on their own. And the glowing yellow eyes glowering down at them from where it towered, an elongated head with a red triangle gem on its head.
The creation forged from the four elemental programs designed to destroy the entire Cyberworld, the Life Virus. Something that had gone unseen for many years until now.

Rosso... Zane... would recognize Resonance's counter to his world-ending slash. The Generational's sword shatters in place to reveal his hand beneath, a hand which instantly slams into the ground. From this central point, a set of four lines streak out, with two on either end meeting. The ground in the area from Resonance to Rosso turns into an onyx black circle around these lines, sealing it away with the black hourglass of the Generational. Above this pentacle, the flames of the legendary sword freeze in time, gaining no ground on Resonance before them.
Resonance: ...only after I've eliminated you!
Behind the chaos of the now-frozen crimson blaze, Resonance holds his hands out to the sides and dashes forward. As he does so, a pitch black shadow appears behind Rosso, quickly slashing him with the same blade that Resonance now holds before disappearing to the wind. Back in the sealed zone, Resonance charges the blazes and holds his palms forward, opening a gateway similar to the one that he'd been making before to open and collapse realities. This gateway swallows the blaze, revealing the Generational to Rosso within the sealed area once again.
Sword drawn, Resonance comes in with a powerful over-head swing... before feinting to the side and delivering a quick horizontal slice across Rosso's body while simultaneously dashing to the side in order to evade potential counters from the Pyroclasm. A rare sight of Resonance's fighting-style reveals that this battle would be quite different from what Rosso had battled with Genesis and the nameless Navi. Rather than relying on his pure power or speed, Resonance keeps his mind about him and respects the power of his opponent entirely, taking a far more tactical approach to the fight.

Even beneath the shroud of the hood he wore could Resonance see that Rosso's eyes were practically sneering for him when his first attack against him was halted. That condition was satisfied already then. The shadow struck behind Rosso to no avail, the strike from the weapon catching the air just as many attacks had before against the Pyroclasm. But when Resonance himself had gone on the offensive, Rosso lifted his sword-arm in an attempt to parry before the strike landed clean instead... the same sneer still in his eyes. There was another one that would line up rather well for him in this fight, the silver flames once more igniting upon the overbearing sword. But rather than swing with the sword, he stomped with his left foot against the ground as instead meteors fell down from the sky directed at Resonance. They were powerful, but not nearly as much as the sword he held.
And it was what he was making his next move with, holding his free hand out as a star began to form within it. That very same star had his sword thrust into it, mounting the tip of his blade as it became black before becoming a blinding white that he thrust at Resonance, the star multiplying in a shower of devastating blasts coupled with the meteors that were raining down both at him and around him to cut off escape paths. The sneer from before was replaced with cold calculation to account for his foe. Resonance was looking for an opening while Rosso was waiting for him to make a mistake. When he did he would capitalize on it again like the first two that were made for him already.

*Embera smiled, relieved as Rosso unhanded Purgatory into her possession. Before the tears returned in force, Embera gently floated away, before rocketing back towards Genesis, hoping to join in time for a battle her heart could actually be in.*

Like a kid pretending to have the power of outer forces, Mary flung her hands about crazily, guiding every motion for Inori to make. Inori only took movements in extreme bursts--costing a lot of her life force, but necessary in order to not be in the way of Resonance to allow him to focus on his goal while defending him. She vanish-stepped to a meteor, sliced it in half with her giant bugged blade, and vanish-stepped back to the ground, repeating this until any meteors that would pose a real problem to Resonance were taken care of. The star burst, however, wasn't something Mary knew how to have Inori deal with, so instead she had Inori take a slash at Rosso, purposefully missing to keep her actions appearance randomized and vanish-step to safety behind Resonance once more, preparing to follow his lead again.

Nightshade's roar shook the walls of the Underground. There was something that just riled him up for a battle. The thing before him. That thing was the same thing the navi in blue had fought at the beginning of his era...way before he too had possessed the power of a Cybeast. The Juuka grinned as he saw the virus' aura manifest around it.
Life Aura, was it called? An incredibly rare Giga Chip had been manufactured with the same name. Legends said it was able to repel even the strongest of attacks. Question was...would it be able to handle him?
He hopped backwards, right arm turned into a unique looking LongSword. A black blade with green edge. It was throbbing with power, a power that could rival BugRise's own weapon.
"RAM, can you have 414 distract the LV for a few seconds? I'll cut into its shell so that you can strike at its heart. Also, try to not damage the core too much. If we're lucky, we could get some GigaChip data from this whole ordeal. Awaiting Battle Routine, standby."
To be completely honest, Nightshade wasn't really after the GigaChip itself but more of any and all informations hidden within the Virus' core. Inside that hulking green mass there could be the answers he was searching for. Getting the chip it would be a nice add-on...but they had to defeat the thing first.
Chaos sparkled with electricity. If the Life Aura was as formidable as legends foretold, then he'd need to charge himself up a little more than usual.

RAM: Oh holy sh- 414 that's the Life Virus.
"I see it. Looks like every other virus. Just bigger." The wolf gave a low growl then, but not one of anger, or of fear...but of excitement. Of challenge. The beast could feel the hairs standing up on his entire body, and not from the wicked cold that surrounded him, but instead from the lust of battle that was filling him. There wasn't the tracest ounce of fear or uncertainty on the program's features. He wanted to decimate this creature, and he would. Even if it cost him his life. Everything about the Life Virus was, as far as K-414 was concerned, an abomination. Every part of it down to the 1's and 0's that made up its entirety. He would destroy it all, to completion.
When he was done with it, not even a trace of it would be left.
K-414 was already moving forward even before Nightshade had spoke, not bothering to heed any plan unless Richard had agreed to go along with it as well. And given all that Nightshade had asked for was a distraction, the wolf was more then fully capable of providing that. He had stood up against the force that was Genesis- he could certainly put up with a giant virus. His systems weren't at their peak at the moment, but they were definitely warmed up from the excitement in coming back down this rabbit hole.
RAM: You've got the information that we learned about the Life Virus enough to battle it. I'm going to analyze how long its been in this location and any data strings of any other navi or program that have been down here. If the Electopian Officials don't know about this, but the ONB do, or vice versa, selling this information is going to make us very wealthy.
K-414 ignored Richard as he spoke, his gaze set on the massive creature before him. The lupine beast leapt forward and, as he did so, the tendrils of frost began to wrap around his claws. The same prismatic, pulsing power that he had used to decimate the scores of the Scuttles on the way here began to replace the frost after a moment as he drew closer to the Life Virus. He wasn't moving with any real speed or urgency, but rather with purpose. Every step forward was measured and certain.
Even if he didn't specifically mean to, he was drawing out his approach, letting the Life Virus focus on him and his anti-viral power while letting Nightshade do whatever he was to do. K-414 didn't bother with chips or the like...he was strictly there to decimate the forces in front of him, and if that force happened to be a virus, even one as big and powerful as the Life Virus, that just made his excitement all the more palpable.
If the Life Aura sprang up, K-414 would slam his anti-viral claw directly into that...but if the creature attacked or let him come closer, he'd go after whatever he could get.

Nightshade kept charging for a few more moments. His blade crackled with energy. This was sure gonna put a dent in th guy. The juuka dashed forward, zig zagging around the thing, analysing the best spot to strike. As he ran, the area under his feet got covered in a deep layer of water. While the zoanoroid would be able to do his acrobatics on top just fine, while a hulking heavy beast would have trouble moving around with the added drag.
Once he had circled the beast he decided to aid 414 in his assault. While the lupine virus buster was distracting for the front, the speedy juuka skidded to a stop right behind the Life Virus. With a vicious battle he plunged his longsword forward, releasing all the energy of his Hyper Attack into the monster, hoping to shatter the barrier that was protecting it.

Meteors. Of course things couldn't be too straight-forward. Eyeing the cosmic onslaught from above, Resonance shifts back to evasion, shifting from place to place in a blur as reality warps him about. Rosso's intuition on the battle was dead-on; even without the use of his shielding, it would not be an easily taken victory for Resonance. A multitude of powerful blows would be needed to defeat Rosso, yet only one or two earth-shattering strikes would spell doom for the Generational. Then comes the shotgun-like storm of stars. Resonance didn't have time to break through them all...
...so he'd make time.
Holding a hand forward, a sound of kin to glass being struck resonates out, signaling yet another change. The meteors, the stars, and Resonance himself are all frozen in time just seconds before the cataclysm slams in from all directions. The surreal sight of the entire scene freezing, including Resonance himself, would be virtually dumbfounding in sight, but the scene would not stay entirely static for long. While the frozen visage of Resonance remains, he somehow also leaps forward beyond the attacks, coming down with yet another over-head sword slash. However, before he can finish, Resonance vanishes.
In his place, a set of 2 Resonance break into reality instantly, each with the same blazing sword and one on each side. The right Resonance makes a sudden rising slash with the flaming weapon, while the other drops a swift downward strike along with a feint to the left.
This is when, given the exact same timing that would have been expected, Resonance re-appears in the air just inches from Rosso has he had been with his initial attempt. He brings the blazing weapon down and cuts just short of Rosso before once again spinning around with a horizontal slash and a feint to the left, dropping away as he had before. All the while, the Resonance at the epicenter of the fiery storm remains locked in time like a statue.

PlagueMan.ERR
As Resonance weaved forward, carefully striking blows against the pyroclasm, PlagueMan did a few tests of his own. The naturally degrading nature of his own programming relented outwards and struck against everything in his vicinity that he wasn't purposefully trying to protect - at the time being, that being the entirety of the Net that wasn't Resonance. The ample amount of static the buzzed just outside of Resonance's body expanded and ripped layers off of stone pixel by pixel, upheaved parts of buildings and what remained of reaverbots and the city alike - and, with any luck, something from Rosso would give with it.
The pixels rended from the environment floated in the air as they adopted the signature scintilating hues of color of the bugged data under the alpha's control, shifting from sickly green to bright yellow and a foreboding red as it took form, taking on limbs that smashed into Rosso. First, a flagellum lined with fire, stone and plasmic energy that struck at his side, and then a fist rose up forged of dark energy, leaves and ice.
From what he remembered, Rosso was a tough cookie to crack - anything that didn't possess certain properties simply would not break his defense. Luckily, his data was infinitely adaptable, and could take on the properties of anything he needed it to in order to handle Rosso. Unfortunately, Rosso was not the only issue on the board.
Which was why he saved his more prevalent skills for someone he was a tad more comfortable with handling. Smashing against Rosso from within Resonance would be safe enough, and keeping Resonance alive was his main worry - but Serix was a problem. This whole time, Rosso has been dismissing her as she charged up her nuclear bomb, and the last time they had all interacted with this man, he had played them all. Everything he did was with purpose, from luring them to Rammount, to attacking Element City in the midst of an insurgence of the Life Virus. If she went nuclear to blow him up, and the rest of the city with her, history would be written by the survivors . . . and he planned on it being him.
A tendril of bugged energy passed between Resonance and Serix, and Resonance would suddenly feel PlagueMan's consciousness disconnect with his own. While basic warping of his surroundings was simple, more strenuous means of his abilities requried his full attention - Resonance would be better off not knowing that his plans were to take the full brunt of the kamikaze Serix with him.
Serix would feel it as a slight bloating of her insides, as PlagueMan rather forcefully moved in. Nestling in within her code, he didn't bother syncing up or even introducing himself - a virus through and through, he was unwelcomed, unaccounted for and likely a target. He needed to work fast.
Focusing the extent of his power on the floor beneath Serix's feet, PlagueMan began to warp the very ground they stood upon, slowly but surely corrupting it in full. A power he'd only used once before, and in an extremely dangerous situation, PlagueMan had, as he was about to do, removed a threat to the rest of Electopia by these exact means. Other than the intense static flowing in the air around her, Serix had no warning to what was about to happen - as the ground suddenly lost its solidity, threatening to clip her right out of the Element City map and into the empty abyss of permanent, falling, blue.

As she focused on moving forward, Serix didn't really bother with stopping the attack from Inori. Rather, she took the full force of it, and continued forward. As for the Plagueman bits that had worked their way into her data, they would be burnt before they could escape. Not that it mattered anyway, since she was about to bring an end to all of the madness here.
"Before all of this goes away, I do have one last thing to ask you. Why did you interfere back in Bayside? We had already dealt with the threat, so what did you have to gain by assaulting us?"
The female navi's Aura had finally reached critical as it began to sink inward, towards her core data. At first, the process was slow, taking a good amount of time to be absorbed into her, this was her final Gambit. This was her one chance to actually make a difference in the net.
"Well, I think I've gathered enough energy for now."

(OOC that applies IC: Thanks to some inner workings, Kman and NS you two are getting another thread in a bit. FOR THE MEANTIME, HOWEVER)
-
His eyes moved back and forth. The puppet he ignored, as it was going to be gone in a moment. The puppeteer he considered, but then she'd also be gone in this fleeting time. It was why he didn't respond when Inori went for the strike even though she missed. And he was going to make his move until he noticed someone finally finishing up, which caused him to pause instead and look not in her direction, but in PlagueMan's. And true to his word, he didn't move. He could afford to with Resonance at the time at least, as he was still hitting whatever shield was around Rosso and causing no harm to Rosso himself. Those time skips were a bit annoying, but all things in good time.
It was nice of PlagueMan to let him know he was riding in Resonance now instead of Genesis. At the time it was fine letting the parasite live, but now the circumstances had changed. Rather than let the attacks reach so they could act as a test, there was something that someone from Bayside, like Serix, should have recalled at the onset of the battle. Something that he didn't show to Resonance, Genesis, or the Armored Destroyer: the volatile bursts that would rise up thanks to their actions. And why he was allowed to ignore Inori and Mary the entire time. And so an explosive burst lashed out that engulfed the copies of Resonance, Inori, and Mary each in an unavoidable burst that triggered up to twelve heavily powerful ones. Those of lesser nature would be wiped out immediately just from this in a normal scenario, but he figured he could let them fester a while longer.
"Bayside? I keep forgetting you were actually there. Or were you the one who flailed around like some infant throwing a temper tantrum? Is that how you felt when Jin died? Would you feel relieved knowing he was alive again? ...Would you feel a weight off your shoulders knowing he died like a pathetic dog yet again?"
Now came making his move so that the two problems would stop making themselves one for just a moment. He swung his sword back, the silver flames now having orange and black flames mix in with them. Rather than strike at anyone in particular he instead thrust his sword downward and Resonance felt it just then. Something rather akin to the time he was making himself right now. Now just came unleashing it in a proper fashion after holding on to it for so long now.
"Or would it hurt knowing that he truly won't come back this time? That he died in some cell with no way out but all-consuming flames. I'm still standing still, you know?"

Resonance stops at Rosso's words, glancing him over for a moment before disappearing. At the same time, the Resonance that had been frozen earlier unfreezes and raises his shield while dashing back, just BARELY evading the explosive onslaught. This is when he returns to a fighting stance and glares on to Rosso, allowing the blazing sword to dissipate.
Resonance: Serix.
Resonance's eyes narrow, still locked onto Rosso.
Resonance: If you try to attack him right now, I will freeze you in time and delete you myself. Do. Not. Move.
Resonance pauses for a moment. Just as Rosso had been charging for so long, he'd feel a pulse in time and space as Resonance also reaches the end of his charge, as evident by his hourglass crest now shining with a white light.
Resonance: No one's going to take your bait. No one's going to give you that moment that you've been hunting for. So why not just show me your light-show now, and let's see how it compares to mine.
The energy around Resonance reforms into an hourglass pattern, pulsing wildly as the Generational looks on, prepared for what may come next.

"Crabbask--!"
Mary was too confident in her distance to be even remotely prepared. She was launched straight into the ground from her position in the sky, her twelve sabers dissipating into data. From the crater created by her body, Mary quite literally crawled out with her right arm. She slammed a fist into the ground, coughing up blood.
"Curses.."
Inori used her bugged sword against the explosive rifts to send her flying backwards with ease. She stood next to her controller, and prepared to head back in, but since Mary knew nothing of Inori's functions, Inori's Safety Protocol finally catches up. A caution message pings before she suddenly drops to the ground, and soon after her entity disappears into a stream of the words: "INORI.AXA, CRITICAL LOG OUT."
All fruitful effort. She had actually cared, had actually wanted to defend the city, the inhabitants of this cyber world. She actually felt close to her job in the ONB.
But if this is what it will be like, I'll follow through on that offer he gave me after all.
General Mary stood up, holding her left arm with her right. Opening a rift in the coding behind her, she jumped backwards, and soon both the rift and herself were gone. She in particular appeared outside the city near a reservoir to watch the conclusion of this destructive symphony.
<Inori.AXA, exit> <General Mary.EXE, exit>

He couldn't help but scoff. It was nice of him to acknowledge her now at least, probably due to his provocation. He supposed she would have to save her little revenge stunt for later then. He would just have to save that hunt for later then. While he was fishing for it, he could make due without it. So he would instead focus on his actual endgame here. The Generational Navi had already heard it from Rosso himself, but he would make good on his word too. Not simply the end part, but...
"Heh, and here I thought I was being magnanimous. Granting her a chance to at least reach her personal vendetta unlike that other puppeteer. Coming from a guy who fights with nothing but feints and bluffs though to call another out on his own bait... I suppose you're entitled to that. So be it. I'll tip my hand for you. I have been given the designation of Rosso, the Trigger."
There was a deafening shriek that went through the air before it simply ceased to be as though it never occurred. The ground trembled and fell apart, splitting at its very seams and roots before it appeared as normal again. The look in his eyes had changed and the overall feel about him changed as well. He had nothing to feel but the oppressive heat that he was letting off before and the radiance of a Titan's might from the sword he wielded. And this felt like something else, the implications of it entirely unclear to the naked eye. But for Resonance's eyes, he could see it within his timelines that each of them were undergoing an unsettling change before he would hear possibly a set of bone-chilling words next.
"Get out here, Falzar."
The feral look in his eyes at the battle's onset was revealed in full as the purple aura engulfed him, shadowed within it as a pair of wings sprouted upward. But before it could even finish, the voice within growled out another set of words. These a completely different thing instead.
"ByPass. Bestial Inversion."
The aura had crumbled away, surging back into Rosso at an alarming rate before he stood... unchanged. In terms of appearance he was the same as he was before save for the sharp look in his eyes, which were practically the same as well given his natural glare. But it was as though the shadow of Falzar's might, and beyond, were now encompassing him. And the feeling of another force, one that was only briefly felt in the world, was backing him now as well. It was here that Rosso lifted up his sword, all light being drawn inside of it. And yet they could all still make one another out perfectly, everything all becoming far more narrow. As it all became... 'drawn in' for the lack of a better term to just his sword, one moment that spanned across the infinite.
"But I wouldn't call this a light-show. There's nothing to the show. Nothing but annihilation, that is."
