And now, it all makes sense. Of course the boy would be excited about an event like this - however he heard about it, Nightshade was apparently a fan of holidays in the physical world. An oddity that Thrash typically ignored, given that factors like seasons or anniversary dates didn't have much impact on the makeup of a network, and especially held little relevance for a born-and-bred weapon. Except for a select few... one of which, of course, is friggin' CHRISTMAS.
<...I completely forgot that it was winter now. And to think, I didn't even->
The Daemon's numerous red eyes all narrow into pinpricks, as both a sudden horrific realization and centuries of repressed violent instinct hammer their way home all at once. Christmas looms before the assembled crowd in all its gaudy, glitzy glory, and Thrash has forgotten to get the boy a gift this year. And serendipitously, in her time of need, the Navi now addressing the crowd has arranged this... competition? With the promise of prizes?
<AUCTION MODE INITIATED - ENGAGING BLACK FRIDAY PROTOCOLS>
Only the most cutthroat and bloodthirsty competitors survive in the online auction scene of 25XX. This contest is no different - destroy rival pickers, and seize the most tantalizing opportunities as they appear. Much digital blood has been spilled in the name of Nina's wardrobe and Minerva's collectibles, to say nothing of her former master's vicious shopping practices. This is no different... save for the fact that Thrash now has an accomplice. And that is when a set of glass-taloned fingers close around Nightshade's helmet...
<SHOW NO MERCY, SHOW NO RESTRAINT.>
Thus, with the precision and might of a major league pitcher, the War Daemon grips her 'little bro' by the head and sends him hurtling like a fuzzy armor-plated meteor towards the tree, letting loose a savage roar as the only warning to any other would-be contestants in their path!
[ATTACKING ACTION - Slinging Nightshade at up the tree, assisting his climb to uncover additional ornaments!]

Esperanza continued to maneuver her Persian Craine between her fingers, even as Rook wandered ever so slightly closer to her, she kept a finely tuned grip onto her most precious weapon that is intrinsic to her way of life. At least that was until the gates opened, and when her eyes made contact to what was lying beyond it left Esperanza rather speechless. She could sense a jitter of adrenaline rush push her foul mood aside to such a point that she stood up without hesitation, but as to not lose her composure around all the strangers, she sauntered towards the Christmas Tree. Though, with her excitement overwhelming her, Esperanza almost missed out on Rook's salutations, she thought about ignoring him but didn't want to seem rude to someone who appeared to be modest. She turned her short statured body towards him with a somber look on her face, "Name's Esperanza." It was a short and simple reponse in reaction towards the other navi's own simple greeting.
Once she heard the voice of the mysterious but somewhat whimsical navi, and with it, the rules of what's apparently a festive event intrigued her slightly more. She noticed how some in the group decided to attack the tree or didn't even bother gathering the ornament, or made a decision to simply help others. Thinking to herself that she should enjoy time to herself a more than normal, Esperanza then strided towards the left side of the huge tree and made her ascension up it. She made her way up further until she saw one of the ornaments, silver colored, and reached out with her right arm.

Nightshade grinedas the gates opened, revealing the inside space to him for the first time. "YOUUUUUUUU" He shouted when Saint came out and explained the rules, pointing his finger at him. "YOU ARE THE COOLEST NAVI I HAVE EVER SEEN!"
Noticing how stupidly hyped he was about all of this he shyly shuffled away a moment later. "whoops."
It was until a few people had already sprung into action that he decided what he was going to do. "Alright big sis. I have no idea on how the hell we are supposed to do this but it seems that we need to collaborate. So, I'll climb up that tree while you provide fire support. Maybe the key is getting to the top. If you see anything shiny, I'll toss it to ya."
The ground rumbled as Nightshade's power's gathered within him. A small shockwave expanded outwards as he called upon his strongest power. A flash of purple flames and the navi took on the distinctive shape of the Cybeast whose powers he was wielding. The Greiga Juuka hopped forward, somewhat proud of his form, stretching his arm and shoulder as he walked over to the tree. "Yosh! Up I go!"
He reeled himself in before his sister grabbed him and buddy boosted him to the top, surprised at the sudden shift in her behaviour. Well if it really was a competition, having the daemon's presence in the back of his head could play to their advantage. Seeing as the others were already going for the gold ornaments, but not really wishing to get something particular, he stopped all squatting down on a branch around Silver1, his tail dangling low to the void below. Looking down at his big sister, he exclaimed "Hoy sis! let's give this tree a little shake!"
Then he turned to the other guys already scrambling to grab the gold ornaments. "Guys! I don't think competition is what will get us to the top. Either way, if you try anything funny against me, be ready to face the concequences. My big sister seems to be somewhat...excited about this."
[ACTION] Attack the tree along with a specific attacker, possibly causing a hidden ornament to fall for that attacker. (Thrash)

He had expected more folks to be climbers, but looked like a good deal of them had his attacker's mentality. So attacking was what he was gonna do. His target at first actually got nabbed by someone else, so that was how the early bird goes. So now came sticking to that same target instead. He pulled out two of his guns, the non-laser ones anyway. And then he fired at the same one that Mal had gone to, the one he had planned to go after from the start. He just got to help out someone else as well now thanks to things.
Role: Attacker Action: Attack @ Silver Orb 3 along Esperanza for possible further reveals.

The boy rocked the tree limb swinging from branch to branch like a happy monkey taking care not to kick anyone off. Leaping up to the next shiny ball, the boy lost grip of his first gold ball and barely noticed as the second ornament was in his hand.

Merrill waited to see which side he should take. While he calculated carefully, he bowed to Saint.
"Thank you Saint for the opportunity to participate in this event. It is an honor to receive the invitation."
He noted that there were more attackers, so with a beat of his wings, he bolted up the tree to drop gifts for everyone. He landed somewhere near NiB, and reached for a golden ball...
Action: Grab Golden ball 6.

<SHUT UP AND GRAB.>
Cohort deployed, Thrash is now left to strategize from the ground. Numerous glowing eyes survey the tree as far as they can see, and already a plan is beginning to form. Clearly, the 'Secret Santa' generosity aspect of this game is the key mechanic - while a player can only leave with one parcel, amassing a large enough hoard of them grants not only first pick of the juiciest morsel, but also the honor of being credited for the most 'gifts' to others. Therefore, a disruption play at this early stage would be key to controlling the supply. And that means aiming for the next-greediest competitor, the one hoping to obtain the most tantalizing available prize... yes, that one will do.
<SPECIAL DELIVERY, F**KBOY.>
Thrash points a clawed arm up towards the base of the tree, the metal plates folding open and allowing a large black crystal spike to slide out from some inner compartment. Those close enough to inspect may notice what appears to be some sort of rocket-mounted warhead encased in the glass - predictably, this encapsulated missile blasts free of its housing, and screams up towards its unfortunate target, exploding in a shower of frigid black vapor and biting shrapnel upon impact!

Out of Character
{Remember to sacrifice your ornaments to attack or move up the tree people.}"Saccrifice a number of ornaments to climb to the next level. One level may be climbed per turn, the number of ornaments that must be saccrificed reflects the tier-number on the tree (tier 1=1 ornament, tier 2=2 ornaments, ect). May be done once per turn without taking up an action, you may only climb as high as has been unlocked for Climbers"
Baxter seeing the chaos this tree is going through opts to continue his peaceful collecting. He glances from side to side while clinging to the lovely smelling pine bristles of this colossal tree. To his left he spies a bronze ball. He shimmies over a snatches it up! Pursing it in his massive bag of holding.

StrifeMan.EXE
StrifeMan wrapped his claws around the nearby golden ornament, plucked it from its place on the tree, and promptly threw the ornament into the hole in his chest. The dark void within spluttered, and nearby climbers would hear cries of agony and maniacal laughter - along with many other, far more disturbing sounds - as its glowing surface disappeared inside.
The garland barrier above him suddenly fell, and StrifeMan's shadowy aura intensified, burning right through the material as it fell around him. Looking up at the higher tier of the tree, he first looked back at the one he was on. Didn't seem that there were any more shinies worth grabbing, and he was precariously close to a silver bauble.
Glancing around, he realized the little runt he'd talked to wasn't remotely interested in their little deal - he was climbing up on the tree, right with him! After that enticing little agreement they had, too! He was hurt, he was. StrifeMan would handle that issue later, though, and inched to the side a little bit. Rather than reach out and grab it with his own hands, he sent out an ethereal, shadowy hand from his core, the demonic looking hand stretching out from his chest to carefully reach towards the silver ornament. He meant to use it to get up to the next level of tree, rather than drop the one he already had. This would be painful, but, he'd only need to grab hold of it for a second . . .
"Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, pain! Not the wondrous kind, the kind that makes one cry! StrifeMan feels pain!"
[CLIMBING ACTION - SilverBall #5]
[INVENTORY - Candycane GiftBox | GoldBall #1]
Vytrex rears back from the tree, having already smacked it once with his hammer. He flipped it in his hand, and smacked it with the opposing head.
[ATTACKING ACTION - Hit it. With the hammer.]

Asymptote watched as the Tinsel barrier was removed, and it seemed someone went and got rid of the garland that prevented the climbers from going further. Unfortunately for the massive navi, he had no way to see if Krystania's snowball had uncovered anything just yet. So unfortunately for him, he wound up climbing downwards on the tree, keeping himself practically hooked on the tree as he began to slowly move downwards, hand brushing by a nearby bulb on the tree. Shrugging at himself, he would simply and gently take the object and hang it on his loincloth of a navisuit and hope that he could climb higher soon, lest all the bulbs disappear off the tree before he could grab anymore.
