*He listened to what Resonance had to say, nodding in agreement. Information gathering was what they would need to do after all. It was this that let him reason that Electopia or Creamland would be their next best avenue to do as such. Netopia would risk Rosso again, not that he couldn't be anywhere else.*
"It's fine, Resonance. I can admit that as things stand, they aren't a wall I can overcome with our current standing."
*Ultimately if they wanted to learn how to get past that defense of theirs, they would have to fight again. Once they got past it and he could do damage, the fight at least became possible to win instead of just being a loss as things stood now. Or rather, the real battle could begin then. Until then, they were just going to be hitting them and then getting hit back even harder. And in just Rosso's case he carried incredibly threatening offensive power.*
"If we engage them like that again so soon the Destroyer won't be much help. Even still, I believe we'll have to rely on our versatility to experiment instead."
*Between his Scar's ability and his overall abilities, it let him buy time if he had to draw out the encounter. With Resonance, they could test how things worked a bit better as well if they could get his Forced Emulation off. And with the two of them, that should grant them some knowledge on the combat front. As for the agenda front...*
"But that's if we fight them again. Finding out their plans without them just telling us isn't going to be easy. But if they went after those beasts, then we can at least assume that they might be after more than just those two. But--..."
*It sounded like something was happening already. Reaverbots, though? Hadn't they gone down with Elysium? But then there had been a rumor that they were still lingering about off and on around where it fell. But did that mean that Megaman Juno wasn't defeated after all? They had only been active when he was around, so what was going on here? Though thinking about it... they didn't know much about them as well. This was problematic, to say the least. Another unknown enemy practically...*
"I would say that they could handle it, but I doubt an attack would be staged on New Life if they thought they would fail. It's better to not let them fend for themselves. Though it could also be a diversion for another area in Electopia as well, so we should consider this as well. New Life is stationed above a few other areas, isn't it?"

Resonance's eyes fall from Genesis, considering the situation carefully as he does so. This... random... occurrence right after the Cyber beasts were taken in such a mysterious manner....
Resonance: New Life is above Element City, so the scope of the attack should tell us a lot. But what is the point of an attack like this now? If they're working with these Navis, then why attack like this? And if not, then why New Life? There's nothing world-changing there that I know of...
Resonance looks up to Genesis, his expression somewhat worried now.
Resonance: Unless they're trying to prove themselves for some reason or create some sort of distraction. Genesis, I feel like something very bad is about to happen...
The teleporter flashes again, returning form to the unnamed Navi who had stormed out earlier. Somehow his body seemed to be back at 100%, and his serious expression returned, as stone-cold as ever. He glances to Resonance's worried face, then looks back to Genesis, gathering their confusion and worry.
?: I take it that you've heard of New Life.
Resonance nods silently, still mulling it over.
The destroyer, as stoic as ever, speaks out while primarily looking to Genesis. Unlike what the Overlord would be used to, his words are calm and collected, laced with a tone of confidence and deliberate intentions. This was not the destroyer that the Onyx Overlord had fought with so many times before.
?: I don't have the full data, but everything in me says that they are behind this, and that this is a Xanatos gambit. If the reaverbots are allowed to do what they want, then they achieve their goal. If their forces stop them, they come out smelling like a rose. If Navis like us rise up and try to defeat them, we wear ourselves down and expose ourselves. If I'm right, then we lose no matter what.
The destroyer stops for a moment, his eyes shifting to the side as he considers it.
?: ...but we have an advantage too. They know how we work, but they don't truly know how we think. There has to be some way to turn this to our advantage.
...at this point he stops, looking at his hand as he does so. There was one trump-card that he could play, and the deck was already set for it.
?: ...and I know how.
The destroyer looks straight at Genesis, his eyes flashing as he does so.
?: I'm guessing that you're planning on getting involved. If that's the case, then we need a covert op to gather more intel.
Resonance's interest piques as he looks to the destroyer, nodding as he responds.
Resonance: Alright, I know New Life and can probably get additional into.
The destroyer shakes his head, clenching a fist as he does so.
?: No, I'll go.
Resonance gives a puzzled look to the nameless Navi, trying to figure this all out.
Resonance: But why you? I'm the Navi most built for covert ops of the three of us.
The destroyer looks up from his fists and back to Resonance.
?: You may be the best at hiding in the shadows, but I'm the best suited for hiding under the cloak of havoc. They're likely to consider my working with the Overlord as a fluke, as we've been forced to work together in the past.
The destroyer looks back to Genesis, his eyes still flashing as he looks to the Overlord.
?: If you go in alone or with Resonance, then they will likely not expect me to follow. I know New Life well, and am our best bet to gather more intel on these Navis.

*So Element City... if he were a betting man, which he didn't take too many gambles mind, he would say that their next objective was there. But why attack New Life instead of attacking the city directly, then? Did they perhaps have a target at the ONB HQ as well? If they were aiming to prove themselves, taking down the HQ and the commanders along with it would set an example for those to follow that were intimidated by such shows of force. If not, it was a distraction that might not even be related to Electopia given their wide range of activity. As their last contender returned, much better than when he left, that at least made things better in the occasion he got caught up in a fight. It looked like he had taken the time he left to collect himself and think things through, something he wasn't quite used to from the Destroyer personally speaking. He was weighing the options that were presented to them. They could fend off the attack while not looking like the aggressor and curry favor, or fail at the attack while still not looking like the assailants but reaching their goals. Yet if they rose up and fought back, it brought them back into the open. A Xanatos Gambit indeed...*
"If I rest on my laurels, they'll gain the upper hand one way or another. Though I never thought I'd be aiding the ONB again."
*It had been quite a number of years since 'that' happened. Since Suki was in command to be direct about it. And that was less aiding the ONB directly as much as it was aiding the mutual goal of besting Eon and his Scions. It was true to consider it a fluke as well. If anything in this fight Rosso had been gunning for him since he was at Rammount, but had caught the Destroyer in the massive radius his attacks held. Then it was likely they would go their separate ways, given they always did when a fight was settled one way or another. It was decided, then.*
"No one's hid as well in the midst of havoc itself, so we'll be counting on you. Resonance, I want you to try and deal with the likely evacuation of Element City. I already have a way up to New Life myself as well. If it's a diversion, we can bet on them lurking inside the base while the others are preoccupied with defending it."
*He had it for some time now. Better to make use of it while it wasn't taken care of yet. If they sent an army, who better than to face one than one who was specialized in destroying armies? And it wasn't as though he couldn't work alongside one particular commander, Gravity Beetle, as well, as they had come to agreements and fighting on the same side several times now.*

Resonance nods. Element City had been something of a home to him after he'd left the ruins, so this was an acceptable way to handle the situation.
Resonance: Alright. Splitting up will also let me separate myself from you. I think that they probably have footage of my infiltration at Rammount, but they still might not know that I'm working with you. I'll try to see if I can figure out what they're aiming for while I'm there.
All three were now set to work to their own personal strengths despite the deck being stacked against them. Despite their issues, this was shaping up to be a far better team than expected... and the vote of confidence from the overlord wouldn't go unnoticed, or unanswered.
?: Doing this alone would not be possible. I am going to need something that only you can provide....
The destroyer turns around and walks towards the teleporter, stopping and looking back to Genesis before entering.
?: Bring the havoc that you always do, Genesis.
With that, the destroyer enters the teleporter, now ready to begin his arm of the mission.

*He nodded to Resonance, hoping for some fruitful results. They had a solid plan and each of them could play to their strengths. If things didn't pan out well with Resonance, retreating was also an option. And the Armored Destroyer, while unlikely to be discovered, would be able to take care of things better on his own where he could play by his rules. But just as his rival sent Genesis his own vote of confidence, it strengthened his resolve for this. He would show them a face that they hadn't seen before: what it was like when one went to war. And what that war was like when you transcended it.*
"Let's do this just like old times, then."
*He activated the device, teleporting out himself as well with his destination in mind. Would they like his presence? Not at first. But they would warm up to it shortly no doubt. For now, he would show the Reaverbots that which they missed out on when they arrived the first time. And take the fight to his enemy, in a way that only he could.*

PlagueMan.ERR
PlagueMan stirred inside of Resonance, feeling the magnitude of the moment shift. They were about to move, as a force he remembered well was attacking Element City - the Reaverbots. He stood alongside others against the Juno monstrosity, but, the battle was shortlived, and its results unclear. How could these fiends be returning, now of all times?
"Resonance, are you ready to go?" To the sound-specialist, the voice was a simple vibration within his very being; no one else would be able to hear it, much unlike PlagueMan's previous attempts to speak, which could be heard from all over. "Unless you have an easier way to get to Element City, with me taking residence in you, you can safely traverse a broken pathway into the City. It'd attract less attention, but, the rides are a bit bumpier than usual gateways across the Net."

Resonance looks to the ground for a moment as he hears PlagueMan speak from within himself. It was similar to the mind-link that he'd had with Silare and...
The internal voice didn't bother the Generational Navi, but something else did. Resonance remains silent for a moment, trying to contemplate the situation.
Resonance: ...something about this feels very wrong, PlagueMan. I'm sure that it's a trap of some kind, but I can't help but feel like we're stepping off a taller cliff than we're anticipating....
It was a sense of dread. At least during the Eon incident he had some assemblance of control because he was actually involved. Yet now the feeling was as though even the great Navis like Genesis were mere white pawns on a chessboard held by a black king.
Resonance: ...but I suppose that we'll find that out soon enough.
To answer the question, Resonance takes a step forward and fades into the shadows, silently disappearing from sight and taking PlagueMan with him.

A flash of light and a metallic clang heralds the return of the Armored Destroyer to his safe haven. Rather than standing tall, he collapses onto the floor, severely damaged and missing an arm and a leg. He grunts and recoils at the pain, but soon begins to claw himself across the floor and towards the repair pod. It's here that another figure, shrouded and darkness in the tell-tale manner of a darkloid, walks up with silent steps.
?: You trust Rosso's guidance?
The destroyer, pulling himself into the pod, gives a glare to the darkloid standing over him.
?: We don't know the specifics, but it's obvious what's about to happen.
Finally in position, the destroyer collapses into the pod and activates it, causing the machinery to begin rapidly repairing his damage while restoring his lost limbs.
?: But the real question here is what about you? I'm not sure if hiding in our PETs would save us, and if you follow me, then not even you will be able to hide if they run a full in-depth scan of the entire network
?: I'll follow.
The destroyer grimaces slightly, but nods. By now, his body is repaired enough to work, allowing his recovery systems to finish the job. He walks over to the main console and types a set of commands, and a 30-second count-down appears.
?: This network will physically disconnect from the net entirely until plugged back in, and it's shielded enough that it should be safe. Hopefully this will be enough to survive the tide.
The destroyer turns to the dark Navi, who disappears from sight. He then walks to the teleporter, types in his destination, and teleports out mere seconds before the network shuts down entirely, leaving no return.

A spark of power, a flash of light, and soon the network is online again; returned to function and connection by an outside hand. The dusty, old library of an archive slowly runs self-diagnostics and works on its own systems while the main teleporter flashes and sparks to life. The Destroyer is first to enter; his armor charred and his hands badly burned like they had been after his fight with Rosso. With deliberate and controlled motion, he walks over to his antiquated healing pod and sets himself up, collapsing inside and mumbling under his breath angrily as he does so.
This is followed by another spark of the teleporter, and a second figure. This one roughly the same height as the Destroyer, but with armor of pristine gold and royal blue. He steps out from the teleporter while carrying a double-sided pike that he holds near the center, and enters the room with silent footsteps. He walks over to the counter near the pod and begins to examine his lance, looking it over carefully.
?: What happened?
The destroyer just darts his eyes to the stranger and gives him a glare.
?: ...the salvage efforts in Element City. I tried to help before a building came down.
The lithe, lightly armored Navi raises his pike upwards and looks at it, still examining the weapon for... something...
?: Foolish.
The destroyer closes his eyes in annoyance, turning away from the stern Navi as he does so.
?: And what about you? You didn't escape Eden immediately.
The Navi lowers his pike and ignites the ends, creating delta-shaped spear-heads of white energy on either side as he continues to fiddle with the weapon.
?: Data gathering.
The destroyer sneers a smile in the direction of the gold Navi, holding back a degree of contempt in his response.
?: That's it? After all of this time you're still just gathering data?
The golden Navi lowers his weapon and disengages the spear-heads, returning it to the counter and hooking it up to a nearby console.
?: Yes.
The destroyer shakes his head, already tired of talking with his compatriot. At this point he remains quiet for several moments, thinking quietly before bringing up another subject.
?: He's on the move again.
The stern and silent one just looks at the console, ignoring the destroyer in all but response.
?: Yes.
The destroyer opens his eyes, staring off into nothingness with a light glare.
?: I haven't felt him in a long time... but he's definitely on the move today. It's weak, so he's still hiding himself for some reason. But I feel like we're close. For the first time, we're actually close.
Stoic as before, the gold Navi continues his own work, never addressing the nameless Navi short of a single word:
Yes.
