The youger daemon looked up at his elder sister as she spoke. He would stare at her mask for a while, before giving a nod and turning back to the NIA operative. It would be pretty clear that the chances of the little daemon disobeying or not agreeing with Thrash were slim to none. Some would think he was kept under strict mind control, but really it was nothing like that. Nightshade's genuine affection and willingness to support the shapeshifting creature in every way possible would be instantly known to anyone meeting the two.
The little daemon cuddled up with his sister, his tail now wagging at her in slow left and right arcs, before speaking again.
"Right. For that case, Nebula System Dynamics has some safe houses scattered throughout Netopia. I am sure that with a call or two they will be ready to be used for whatever reason you might need. As for me...for now I guess I'll follow my sister's wishes and help you with whatever you need. Technically speaking I am no longer ONB, but I do still know a thing or two."

Mistair was beginning to sympathize with Thrash already to be the elder in this relationship. She didn't mind the mention of Thrash's past either. That was something Rosso would find more fault in than she herself would. While it was bad for criminals to do whatever they pleased, the ones that reformed did have their knowledge and experience to offer when they were helping out as a valuable resource. And it was true that with how things were happening that having more helping hands, as well as sanctuary that was more unlikely to be assailed by anyone on the prowl right now.
"That would be greatly appreciated. While we can handle the investigation, handling everything all at once is a daunting task thanks to how sudden it occurred. I can coordinate from here with you to help you get to them all faster as well. We've been working on trying to gather them together as it stands."
Their own agents were trying their best but were also in an array of emotions because of everything happening. They had their priorities straight: helping out everyone first while keeping the mayhem to a minimum within the people. While there were a few that disagreed, it was more than a majority decision that playing cops and robbers now was the least of their concerns. The minority would be able to do so on their own, which was often enough how he operated anyway so nothing was different. He'd be terrible at making people feel safe anyway, so she didn't mind Rosso not helping out with these particular efforts.
She had already narrowed down the top priority areas as well as some that had the occasional problem. Even Rammount had seen a weird situation that managed to die down and that they managed to contain after thanks to the help of some bystanders. There was a brief disturbance at the lake, but that was also why that was set as not a priority. It was more about the areas leading to cities or other damaged areas in the recovery efforts of Netopia, as well as tourists that were the most confused with the situation. Especially the tourists, for obvious and fair reason at that. So a map appeared for them, the information being sent to the two of them as well. It had the locations of some that they hadn't managed to get to yet, as well as the location that they had coralled them to.
"After you pick up the ones we haven't been able to get to yet, you can lead them to the sanctuary or sanctuaries, depending on if there isn't enough space in just Thrash's own netspace. The agents on site will know the situation ahead of time to save you the trouble."

Nightshade agreed. "Maybe you could also lend us two NIA uniform data. It will be better for the navis we save to not think they are getting taken somewhere by two random strangers. Also, to make sure other agents don't immediately attack us when we cross police lines you know, so that we don't waste time in having to identify ourselves anytime we go somewhere. I mean, we are cooperating together, so it shouldn't be a problem in us wearing your colors...right, sis?"
The little deamon would look up and wait for his sister's agreement, hopeful. He seemed very happy to be working as part of a police force again. He would keep quiet, all cuddled up in Thrash's lap, as he awaited the final say on the matter.

<What, have you already forgotten what happened the LAST time you convinced me to don a ridiculous uniform?>
Joking tone aside, this is a valid point. Getting involved with the ONB was a mistake with a glorious cascade of dire consequences that have cumulated in this very meeting - while the NIA have been much more reasonable so far, tossing their lot in with them at this juncture could be just as hazardous... of course, that's no reason to at least keep terms friendly for the time being, until all parties have shown their true colors...
<...I suppose the Eidolon-8 could use a new paint job. And not being stopped or shot at by NIA patrols would also be quite convenient for our efforts. Especially if we wind up dealing with the Hollow one again... he is one of your agents, along with the Darkloid, yes? I like to think that my scanning protocols are above industry standard, and I have to wonder what someone who can fool them so effortlessly is hiding behind that sort of encryption...>

The Hollow one? Ah, Rosso. For anyone that could scan, especially particularly well, that was a fitting name for him. Because unlike their Darkloid, he practically didn't exist. Though Thrash would notice that his inquiry also caused a thoughtful look in Mistair's own eyes, a sign of its own if there ever were one. But she let that go for now, thoughts that she was already having weren't something to be dwelling on at this particular moment.
"Lending you two that will be fine. And while the Darkloid, Vanguard, is one of our agents... he isn't really either. It's a bit complicated but he isn't someone to rely on for actual NIA business unless you conduct it in a certain way, like having him send you here by telling him to attack you on sight."
It definitely sounded more difficult than it needed to be. Telling your agent to attack and do not capture them in order to get them to not attack them and bring them in wasn't what one would deem acceptable in normal circumstances. When you knew that he was that way, it was at least somewhat easier to predict and as a result, work with. Though in some cases she imagined others didn't want to work with him and instead see their first actual choice for him carried out given what he did too, but she was fine with it.
"The Hollow, Rosso, is one of our agents however. He's most suited for pursuit and assault even though he can handle other tasks. That particular trait of his allows him to do so with relative ease thanks to his targets never knowing when he'll arrive. And in a bit of honesty, I couldn't tell you why he has such an ability either. He's been like that ever since I met him."
She was sending the uniform data as she spoke, as well as the locations that they needed to go to on the map. Rosso was a highly effective agent of the NIA, but also one that she couldn't say she knew much about. That was something that wasn't as much of a problem in the past. She simply assumed that the humans wanted someone that was good at what he did, though why they would narrow it down to just one navi had baffled her. She didn't question it then, but was starting to do so now with the things that were happening. Particularly because of Magnolia.
"Once you're done helping out everywhere on that map, there's another matter that I would like to address with you both. So the information on how to return directly here, though not inside of these rooms in particular, is also among the shared data."

Nightshade of course would be the first to equip the Uniform Data in the cosmetic slot of his NaviCust, cancelling ThrashCross in the process. No more need for it, for now at least. Standing up, he observed as his color turned into a set of deep red and black with a touch of silver. After a succesful installation, he would stretch around a little, admiring the complexity of the color patterns yet the outfit itself was incredibly simple.
"Well it is surely less flamboyant than a ONB uniform...but it does look sick." He mumbled, hopping around Thrash to show her the changes.
The giggly cat stopped with his squabbling when Mistair spoke. "Yes Ma'am" he replied. "Although, I would say keep Rosso at hand. When we were still at the border Genesis.exe appeared. And he didn't seem that friendly. Only a matter of time before he attacks again. He did state he had the intention to destroy HQ. Also, is there a way I can contact the darkloid guy?"

Mistair nodded. She was well aware that he had resurfaced already at the border. He must have noticed that there was no reason in being slow about things. The more time he spent not taking action, the longer this lasted for them all. So Genesis sought to reach a swift conclusion instead of another drawn out war like the stand the Revolution made against the previous ONB's grasp on the world.
"It would be strange for him to sit around quietly. Though having him on hand isn't a problem right now knowing him and his priorities. Now that he's away from the border Rosso will make it his business to face Genesis as soon as possible."
Rosso had contended with many things already in his line of work. But Genesis had faced off against many adversaries as well. To say that he had experience would be an understatement. From the strongest of darkloids to the most destructive navi that the OEL had ever spawned, he etched a path for himself against all manner of foes. The battle would simply come down to whether or not Rosso truly possessed the capability to best the Onyx Overlord. He was confident that he did, so it would come down to if that confidence wasn't misplaced.
"As for the darkloid guy, you can use this to contact him."
She gave them both one in case either needed it. The same device that they could use to communicate with each other right now. Vanguard possessed one as well and could be contacted through it, plus he wouldn't be as offended if she just handed out his contact information that he didn't willingly give to anyone thus far.

Nightshade thanked Mistair for the device, fiddled around with his boots a little before hopping around some more, testing the elasticity. He was visibly enjoying his new look. He grabbed the second device and secured that as well before grabbing one of his Sister's huge hands and began dragging her out of the room. "Come on Big Sis! Those civilians aren't going to save themselves!"

She imagined that they had arrived with completely different expectations for how things were going to be when they arrived here. That was probably due to the reputation that they earned, be it good or bad over the time that they had been around. While they had their duties, she had to attend to her own just the same as she returned back to the lobby area she was in before, a variety of screens appearing before her eyes that she scanned over. Even before she had gone to speak with them after their arrival she had managed to see that there was another caped individual walking around, one that Rosso appeared to know but not one that she could pin down with that appearance. It meant he was likely going after that navi as well as Genesis. Another reason why offering asylum to those influenced by what was happening here is because of Genesis himself. They would end up as collateral damage if they weren't able to stop him, so Thrash's estate and the NSD were much better choices. One was less likely to come up in a conversation as any place that would be used as a safe haven, while the NSD wasn't a place that Genesis likely even knew about.
So the next play was in their and Rosso's court. Which target would he give priority to and on top of this, who else would show up to change how things were?
