*Impressively enough, the collective outlasted the hunter. That wasn't such a bad thing he supposed. But he should take the time to consider things more before jumping into fights like that for no reason at all. And that K-414 was much more a powerful beast than he was a navi. He had fought a lot of things in his day, and though his capabilities were something Genesis was used to... he was still someone who stood out among the masses. Honestly he'd compare him more to that giant... cat? That he fought in Giga City some years ago that showed up with the bird as well. The howl still lingered, a testament that while deleted, he had left his mark in the world. And while the border was practically done for, the Onyx Overlord wasn't one to simply let it end that way either. So he simply lifted up his hand, a black sphere forming in it that he fired off. It reached the point that Vanguard had already pierced before it expanded, swallowing the wall and blowing it apart as though it were an afterthought. Like he had planned to from the beginning, had not Serix decided to talk to him first. And then the changes began to revert, Genesis glancing over to where he knew the sniper had fired from. Looked like he had no plans of going anywhere either.*
"Nice shot."
*He wasn't sure if the guy could hear him or read his lips, but he would go and speak with him in a moment. First was making sure his other assumption was accurate when Serix didn't come back. So he walked over to the decimated border that would let them travel to Electopia and stretched his hand out. And unsurprisingly, he couldn't push past it. They had blocked the connection. The ONB would do this sometimes, but it was an especially rude way to effectively say "Stay out of Electopia for a while, Genesis". Not he cared, as anyone he wanted to speak to could just as easily come meet him here instead. So he turned away and started to walk away from it and toward the Siega Plateau, curious on seeing if the mercenary was right on how quickly they would replace their feeble border. If they were smart they would just leave it as it was now.*
"I'm surprised you didn't take a second shot at me to try and claim that you took me out after missing the first shot to the border."

Vanguard.EXE
Vanguard heard the whisper of a statement, even from where he sat, and turned his head in time to watch as the main worry of all this fighting finished what he started on the border. As the border was swallowed up in the raw power of his darkness, the Navi known by many name came towards him.
He didn't want to talk to him. He simply wanted to sit, and wait for whatever might come. Still, with the power he carried, it was best not to disappoint. "I run a corporation. My data is in every database, and they all tell that my power is in my accuracy. Had I intended to hit you, my cannon fire would have done nothing to the border." His voice was curt and blunt, but, subdued. Even despite the power of the man coming towards him, he still had confidence. No use in grovelling just because a Navi he just watched annihilate a border without even sweating walking towards him. He debated on his next words, feeling them on his tongue, but, unsure if he wanted to say them.
"Had I wanted to hit you . . . I would have."
He tapped his plateau, and the structure collapsed downward to ground level, and then inwards to a small cube. Stepping off as it finished, he knelt down and picked up the cube and dropped it into the void of his flaming hands, turning on his heel to meet the Navi who started this whole thing, not even needing the information on his visor to clock his power.

"I have no doubt of that."
*He had nodded in agreement even as it was stated. He wasn't used to people missing their targets when they intended to fire from a decent distance anyway. He just had the idea that perhaps Vanguard wanted to gain on both sides of the conflict this time. Though if his data was in every database like that then that was unlikely. Knowing of his accuracy they would know full well he landed that shot to the border intentionally. If he ran a corporation then he probably wouldn't get into any trouble he couldn't solve then, so his concerns for him were unwarranted. Besides, if he wanted to leave then he would have done so after that first shot connected and started the chain reaction that ultimately led to the destruction of the border.*
"I would stick around and chat, but I don't want the officials to stay hiding forever. So I should be on my way. If we meet again then we can talk at length instead if you want."
*Serix had managed to get them all out of here after all. He supposed he would go back to the city now and wait to see what their next play would be. Based on that would determine his own. He mentally noted who he couldn't contact right now with the cut connection and which ones he could, starting to walk away now. As he did, a sort of bracer appeared on his left gauntlet that he started to hit a certain combination on as he sent out his message, the device closing back up and vanishing back into the black data.*

As the Onyx Overlord left the scene and things had finally begun to calm down, there was one who was coming into view now. Like an inferno given life, it flared up as the navi began to walk forward. A navi, if one could call it that, as even as Vanguard would look at him he would get no signs or signals. It was like he was barely even there. It was a small, faint sign that would be emitted from some incredibly weak navi. Covered in a desert brown cloak, a hood covering his face from view save for dull blue eyes that glowered through the shadowed space. His arms looked more akin to magma as skin, possessing three barrels above the wrists with some parts of his red armor able to be seen. He was communicating with someone then.
"I got most of what I wanted, yeah. Though I showed a few cards too many, I know it will let them play into my hands when next I engage them. And--..."
He stopped then as he only now noticed the border and sighed. He cut off the connection without even saying anything, gaze directing itself toward Vanguard. This was only a mild inconvience to him, but for the rest they would find this problematic, which made it problematic for him as well. So he had to do his job for now and deal with this situation. Had to do a good thing to come back to a bad one, huh?
"I'm Rosso, of the NIA. You don't mind coming with me to explain this back at the base, do you?"

Vanguard.EXE
Vanguard watched as a flame sprang to life, and produced a Navi. From his seated position, cross-legged on the ground, now, he watched, perplexed by his own readings, as the Navi strode forward. He heard bits and pieces of a conversation he was having with someone, about showing too many cards and someone playing into his hands - conversation pieces that didn't often come from a Navi with good intentions. Still, his readings were far too weak, barely even strong enough to produce the flame he sprouted from before. The Navi shouldn't even be walking . . . which meant that his readings were all wrong.
He didn't normally get incorrect readings. That bothered him. He stood up, using his hand to push himself off of the ground, and watched as he took notice of the border. The Navi's burning gaze then turned to him, and revealed whom he worked for.
The NIA weren't people that Vanguard particularly agreed with. Thankfully, this wasn't a person; rather unthankfully, this was a Navi who worked for them. The NIA was the reason that border was there, in the first place. Still, he had no qualms with this Navi, and he had no qualms with taking responsibility for what he did. "I'll go with you, back to your base, Rosso. I've nothing to hide."

He was glad to see that this one was fairly reasonable. Since no show of force would be required, he could just communicate and have them both moved there, moving over to stand beside Vanguard so both could be caught in the move as Vanguard had no access to their base normally. And so he did, the pathway opened as both would be moved in a beam of blue light. Was a simple showing, and they would arrive in moments. And soon enough, the effects of what was done would come to light...
