Navis Allowed: Serix.EXE
Inside one of the many buildings of Netopia depicted the aftermath of a great battlefield. Apparently a historic recreation of a bloody war before the time of the Net.
It was here that Ruin spent his time training in Netopia. He had to stay in top shape after all, even more now that he was about to try to break through the border. He had just finished taunting that Serix one he left the job to bother Xion for. Funny as it was, she barely even put up a fight so said his sources on the matter. Hardly worth paying, not like he was expecting her to do much in the first place.

Claxon bells sounded in the room that Ruin used for training. After less than one second, the walls ran a marquee across the top and bottom, riddled with hexagonal windows that had 'Danger' or 'Warning' written in them. The words alternated along the walls as the alarm sounded. The lights in the room began to spin, after turning a crimson shade of red, and if one were attentive enough, they might smell smoke as four parallel trails of fire streaked towards Ruin. The trails stopped at four equidistant points from eachother, their target. Out of the flames rose what appeared to be four identical navis. The truth of the matter being that only one of them was a true Navi. The others were clones. When the four spoke, they spoke as one.
"You asked something of me. So far as I know, I have accomplished my task. The target has agreed not to bother you further. I am here to collect my payment. You do intend to pay me, do you not?"
Their movements, even so far as minute muscle twitches, were exactly the same as they each placed their right hands against their hips, and tilted their heads. Each of them grinned at Ruin while glaring daggers at him.

"Wow seriously? You really think highly of yourself huh?"
Ruin's words were mostly in response to the warning signs that appeared all around him. He at least knew who it was, that mercenary girl he had Carnage drop a letter to. Just a little joke on Xion, but from his sources it wasn't even a joke. Or rather, this mercenary was the joke in question. Hardly even put a scratch on him, he had been ensured of this girl's prowess. What a disappointment.
As the flames approached, Ruin stood still, anyone with this kind of gaudy showmanship wouldn't actually go for a surprise attack. Sure enough, from the flames stepped out four navis all the same, all speaking at once Ruin. A smirk crept across his masked face, though the smile could be seen quite clearly. To think she actually thought she'd get paid for a botched job?
"You did nothing of the sort, all you managed to do was get yourself thrashed around a little trying to act all tough, now you come here looking for payment? Pathetic, you'll have to take the money from me if you want it so bad, but considering how much Xion played with you, maybe you'll get paid for something else. Come at me girlie, show me what you got."

"You seem to have misunderstood my meaning. Your associate said nothing about defeating Xion in a net battle. Rather, his message simply noted that a lesson should be taught. I have done exactly that. As I said, I have convinced Xion that you are not to be trifled with. As for the fight, that was for my own amusement."
Serix was insulted by the way that Ruin had so mockingly refused payment, after she had travelled all the way from Creamland.
"I really wish that it hadn't come to this. After all, I did enjoy the job. Still, as I am certain that you understand, Business is business, and you are bad for business. By thine own hand, your right to solicit my services has been revoked."
When Serix had finished speaking, she and her clones simultaneously kicked twice towards separate target areas. Serix aimed for the head. One clone aimed for the abdomen, another for the groin, and the last towards Ruin's feet. Serix kicked once more towards each area, before disappearing, and reappearing behind Ruin's back, and aiming a hard kick directly at his spinal column. To finish the round of attacks, she threw a Molotov towards the ground, at his feet.
"You see, I'm not nearly as incompetent as you and your associates seem to think. But keep thinking that way, please."
That same slightly crazed smile was on the face of each version of Serix, as she began to glow a little.

Ruin didn't move from his surrounded location, Flaming roundhouses coming at him from all around. As the main body, clear as it was from its more determined strikes and intense flames, came in with three sets of strikes, Ruin smiled once more, his already black armor began to taint with streaks of grey, orange and red. Another set of attacks came in, and it could easily be seen of Serix preparing a Molotov, yet this time Ruin brought up an arm. His movements relaxed and slow, yet each one just narrowly stopped or missed the darkloid, clearly enhanced by his Darksoul.
As the clones closed in all at once, Ruin made a low sweep under each of their kicks, completely negating their advance. His opponent seemingly finished with her initial onslaught, he chuckled, his eyes though hidden behind a mask finally changing with the rest of his body. Sclera turned black as his iris became the orange red of chaotic power he had come to know.
"Hate to break it to ya, but frankly I'm in the business of cracking skulls..."
His stance deepening as his legs widened, in Ruin's right he held a glowing red orb of energy. Manifesting in his left the image of a DarkCircle Darkchip and crushing his hands together. His right now taking the shape of a great cannon. Though he wouldn't aim it right at his opponent, instead, to the sky it shot its great blast. Splitting off into seven smaller beams, two each targeted Serix and three of the fakes while a single came at the last remaining fomicry.
"And let me tell you, business... well it's booming!"
It was time to take the offensive. Black flames began to rise from Ruin's body as he quickly closed the distance to Serix, quickly manifesting a blade in his right to replace the cannon. It was not the purple glow of a Darksword, instead a great pitch claymore held in a single hand by Ruin. Three strikes followed, to the right, back again, and a spin overhead. In his left, the familiar power of the Dark Sword manifested itself, using the weight of his weapon to flip over Serix and strike from behind. The weapon was much lighter, and struck once again in a circular motion before Ruin jumped back, throwing a tracking knife which homed in on Serix's body, sucking energy from her even as it struck and meteors rained downed from on high.
"You at least are great for business, I especially love the ones who think they're really that strong, yet they don't even know what they're up against."

While Serix personally took all of the attacks, with her clones mimicking her movements. She collapsed to the ground about halfway through the onslaught, but rose to her feet a moment later.
"I don't know who you think you are-"
A dark aura enveloped Serix as she rose up from the ground, and she wore a devilish grin on her face.
"-But this is going to be fun."
After allowing the rest of the attacks to land, Serix reset her targeting parameters.
"Let's keep playing this game."
Her Attack pattern was about the same as before, though her clones h ad all been dealt with. However, each of her attacks would be more focused. After attacking she seemed to be in a slightly better condition.
"See? Isn't this fun?!"

He could see his opponent's efforts redoubled, A dark soul as well it seemed they had. No matter really, even if he had to wait it out it wouldn't be all that difficult really. But really, the mark of an amateur having to be dropped to such a low point for the darksoul to take effect, and it was clear this was a very basic darksoul, nothing like Xion's almost eternal one. With it being clear nothing really could be done at this point, Ruin just waited, the attacks struck true breaking away his dark armor, but it quickly repaired itself. The greyscale flames that were welling up around him continued to swell, as if preparing for something great.
"Girl you have no idea how good this feels. Finally able to let off some steam."
He primarily just stood by as the attacks came at him, though on the final kick he lashed out with a shadowy visage of a scythe, doubtful it would work but might as well force a reaction after all. Meteors still swarmed around him, cutting right through the small barrier Ruin erected and flying toward Serix regardless, the barrier in question growing in thickness and size.

Serix easily dodged both of the attacks that were sent her way. She managed to get one more attack in before the targeting reticles in her eyes disappeared. This, however, did not prevent her from attacking. It simply meant that her follow up attacks would not be as focused as they had been before.

"Correction, I'm not going to fight seriously, and you're going to die."
This time Ruin Did raise a hand to block each attack, effortlessly diverting each attack harmlessly and following up with his own. Orange energy flowing around his body as each strike came toward him. The first set of four kicks came at him, pushed aside and followed with a stomp that fired stones from the ground, the same for the next four, then finally the orange energy swirling about Ruin fueled a final retribution. Striking his arm at the attacks coming at him his strike cracked the very network it moved through. The final Molotov bounced off a barrier harmlessly.
Finally, the flames welling up around Ruin gathered in his right hand. Bringing it up and holding it aloft, the small, handheld fireball rose into the air, stopping high above the two before expanding into a massive firestorm, looming ominously.
"We'll see you when you get stronger... Oblivion Fall."
As those final words left his lips, great gouts of black flame erupted from the storm overhead, seeking everything that wasn't Ruin so incinerate it to dust. Unlike Serix's fire, this flame was not a searing force but one that simply eroded away at that which it touched, leaving nothing of the original. Ruin did little else, opting instead to just wait for his attack to finish off this one.

Serix couldn't dodge everything. But of course she couldn't. She wasn't perfect, after all. Still, she wasn't exactly weak either. She could take the attack, and keep going. She wouldn't be able to fight anymore, however.
"Alright. Fine. Keep the money. Just bear in mind, next time, that I am not to be trifled with. Who knows. Maybe the next time I show up here, I'll be working. I might even cut you a break if you play your cards right."
The warning prompts disappeared after a while, and Serix disappeared in a flash of red light. In her place, she left a card with a message on it.
"Don't make me come back ahead of schedule."
Serix is defeated.

Hilarious, but it was nice to actually fight someone. Too bad it was so easily done. Suppose he should actually try his mercenaries before he sends them to bother Xion, or maybe just send a message like a normal navi. It was no wonder that Xion had no trouble though, Ruin respected his power and influence, even if it wasn't what it used to be.
