As Rook paced back and forth, waiting for someone, anyone to show up, he mentally questioned who he was, where he was, and what he was. He wasn't certain about anything, because he had no memory. Without that, he wasn't about how specifically to proceed with anything.

As Rook bounced back and forth for another unfortunate soul to appear to his aid, a female navi could be seen sitting alone on a bench several meters away from where he was heading. This female navi was wearing a long elegant black dress with several roses covering her shoulders with shadow-like energy slowly leaking from the end of it. The sleeves of her dress not only covered her arms completely, but as well the tips of her hands and nails. Her hair was white as freshly fallen snow in a winter night, and her physiognomy being almost as cold in pigmentation, but still equally beautiful as nature would have intended. On top of her head could be seen several protusion of horns reaching out about a couple inches out.
The female navi was staring at the deck below without bothering to change her point of her view as if examining something interesting. Yet there was nothing but the dirty concrete floor. She sat there motionless leaning forward with not once altering her emotionless facial expression that can be openly observed. But as Rook was getting closer her eyes slighty shifted to the side before she began to examined again the unamusing floor below her feet.

At first, Rook didn't know that there was anyone else in the area. After a few moments, however, he did notice one Navi. She seemed to be alone, and rather pensive. Rook couldn't remember anything from his past, and this Navi didn't spark any memories. But, that didn't mean that he couldn't be cordial. After a few more moments, he walked over and introduced himself.
"Hello, miss. My name is Rook, may I be of any assistance?"
Rook extended his right hand to the female navi, as part of his greeting.
"Though, being unfamiliar with the area, I'm not sure how helpful I can be."

The female navi in the black dress remained motionless as the vagabond introduced himself to her. She didn't turn her head but kept observing the deck, nor respond back properly to his formal salutation as if her mind was wandering in unison with her solemn eyes. But as Rook extended his right hand towards the female navi, she rapidly clasped her own hands between their fingers with a mortified attitude and brought them closer to her body cautiously. At that moment she pivoted her head towards Rook and locked her eyes onto his with a curious intentions. At first sight her eyes were completely empty like staring through the dark abyss. But after a brief moment, two burgundy irises appeared to replace sheol in its former dominion.
???: ... "Assistance?"... "As long as this temple walks on the surface of this useless world, I'll be in need of assistance...," she replied to Rook with a stern look yet serene tone of voice.
The female navi in black then set her hands free from her bounding grasp and continued to say, "But that's neither here nor there... Though I'm curious... What business do you have going on here in this city?,..." she questioned the stranger with unhostile curiosity.

"Business? Well, I honestly don't know if I have business here, or if I was simply passing through. I woke up just yesterday with no memory of who I am, or why I am here. Speaking of, where is here? In all honesty, I don't even know if Rook is my real name. It's just what I've taken to calling myself since I recovered consciousness."
As Rook looked into the navi's eyes, he remembered that he still had questions for her.
"Apologies, but I believe that you have me at a disadvantage. You know my current designation, but I don't know yours. Also, I must apologise for speaking so much. I talk a lot when I get nervous."

Up on a building's roof, a black and green navi studied the two below him with curiosity. The guy called himself Rook, so he was clearly the one that left that message on the BBS. He had tried contacting him, but no reply was ever recieved. He did say he was in Element City, making it easy for the cat like navi to find him. The other one was...weird, possibly a darkloid from the way she dressed.
He wondered if he should jump down and step in or just leave the guy with that girl to solve his problems. For now, Nightshade stood where he was, his tail waving slowly in a low horizontal arc.

The navi in black didn't react at all when Rook metioned about losing his memory. Her face kept up with a solemn face that she had since before the navi has appeared. When asked about his current whereabouts the female simply replied, "... Element City.. That's your current location..." And when the moment Rook apologized for constant blabbering, the female navi was somewhat melancholy as to why he'll apologize for being friendly. "... Kira ...", she said while looking towards the opposite direction from where Rook stood.
Kira then stood up and asked, "... Do ...Do you have any leads or something.. That could probably help you remember?... If anything you should figure out how you eneded up here..."

"Kira, huh. Nice name."
Rook smiled at Kira for a few seconds as he tried to remember something, anything, but nothing really came to mind.
"Sorry to say, but I can't seem to remember anything before I woke up here. Although, the name of this place, Element City, definitely seems familiar. I might have been here before. But, as I said, I can't really remember. It's just a sense of familiarity. May I sit next to you?"
Rook didn't want to impose, since it seemed as though Kira was trying to think about something before he had address her earlier.
"I mean, I don't mean to bother you, or anything, you just seem like a nice person."

Nightshade decided that it was his moment to act. Gracefully jumping down from the roof he was on, he landed on the ground without making a sound. The green and black navi then made his way towards the couple, avoiding the traffic around him with slow yet methodic and fluid motions. If it weren't for his claws letting off faint tip taps as they grazed the ground, Rook would have had some trouble noticing him walking up from behind him. Kira would have been able to see him, however, if she weren't so intent at examining the spot in front of her own feet.
He hopped to their left side and waved his hand to catch their attention. Well, to be precise, to catch Rook's attention. The lady didn't seem the type to get easily distracted from what she would be doing. "I...uuh...hi there." Nightshade half spoke half whispered. He had forgot that he wasn't really good with people and conversations.
His tail flicked from left to right as he shyly shuffled around while trying to think up a way to say things without making it sound creepy or awkward.
"My...My name is N-nightshade. I read your message on the BBS. I tried contacting you, but you never replied...s-so I thought I would look around a little, to see if you were still around. Nice to meet y-you."
Yeah. The cat-like navi definetly wasn't good at starting conversations.

Kira found it strange as to how someone could lose their memories at this day and age. Something about this situation felt off to her but she didn't know how much help she could be for Rook. Especially since he doesn't have anything that could potentially lead them closer to this mystery. As Rook asked to sit next to her, Kira heard doorsteps, a navi came up to them introducing himself to them. Rather responding back to him, she stood silent looking the opposite direction from where Nightshade appeared from.
"Were you expecting company?...," she asked Rook without shame or rather with distrust. Since his arrival, Rook hasn't mentioned about seeing anyone or coming into contact with someone. Was this navi behind Rook'd amnesia?.. Perhaps knows something about it?..

Rook didn't exactly understand Kira's question. As he sat on the bench, Rook responded to Nightshade first.
"Well, to be honest, I was hoping that more than two people would respond. But, seeing as we're all here, I don't think that there would be any harm in the three of us trying to figure this out together."
After this, Rook addressed Kira once more.
"As for your question, I didn't expect anyone to actually show up. And given how little you speak, I'm going to guess that you're our mystery poster......-"
Rook's face, the small portion that was visible under his helmet, turned pale as a stream of raw data passed through him.
"A poster....Of course. I had a poster of MegaMan in ProtoSoul mode. It hung over my computer, near my window...."
A few moments later, Rook's complexion returned to normal, and he looked back to Kira.
"Thank you, both of you. You've helped me more the thanyou know, already. Unfortunately, I have no way to compensate you for your aid. However, I think that if I stick with the two of you, my memories may start to gradually return."
Memory Shard 01: Rook remembered having a ProtoSoul MegaMan poster.

Nightshade tilted his head slightly. He didn't even do a thing but introduce himself and he...helped? Well, if he wanted to help the guy with his apparent amnesia, that was their first lead.
"A...poster of Megaman? Maybe I could trace back where you bought it. I would need to do a few calls to my ONB workmates, but nothing that can't be done in a few minutes."
The cat like navi studied the mysterious girl. He had the strange impression she didn't like him. Strange. He didn't recall meeting her while on duty, let alone doing something that would impact her negatively.
Nightshade was just as curious as he was shy. And that curiosity wa now itching him to pick the two up and bring them to HQ.
