StrifeMan.EXE
This was starting to get boring.
Just standing in front of these gates, nothing was happening! He'd been here for what seemed like forever, and the gates never budged, never waned and definitely never said anything. If he had a little bit of company, this wouldn't be so bad . . .
Now, he was frustrated. Growling, he turns, flaring up his shadowy veil in preparation of a little temper tantrum he can feel coming on, only to notice a few silhouettes in his vision.
Wide-eyed, StrifeMan staggers back into the golden gates, placing a clawed hand on the bars to catch himself. When had all of these other Navis arrived?! His senses were usually impeccable . . . then again, his thoughts can also be a little distracting. So many things to think about and connive over, so little time in the day!
At least he isn't as lonely as he thought he was. Or, rather, there were some voices other than the ones in his head.
As he looks out at the crowd of gathering faces, he notes that hardly any of them look very familiar. He recognizes the overgrown mutt, eyeing him with that same old wolfish grin again - it brought back bad memories, of being coated by the smell of wet dog. The rest were utter strangers. Great day, great day, for new toys with which to play!
He starts to caper towards the mutt - only to halt as a familiar smell washed over him. A being's life essence . . . his own sustenance, even. He tilts his head back and takes in the aroma, feeling the veins in his neck straining at the thought of new blood, even as the blood in them poured out. Looking back at the Navis present, he licks his lips, purposefully splaying his tongue against his pointed fangs, and looks at them in a new, red-tinted light.
Finishing his little skip into the throng of the crowd, StrifeMan comes to a skidding halt next to K-414, and, grinning devilishly - even with his shoulders haunched and scarred wounds pouring blood - he raises a little dagger seemingly from nowhere.
"Oh, the big mutt! All your slashing and gnashing, roaring and - tsk! You were boring! Didn't even let poor StrifeMan dance . . . but, no matter! Now, I have returned, and you will regret allowing I to survive, for, now, you shall not!"

"Revved? Like a car? Ah, speedy was pretty close then."
Shadow Labrys jumped down from Asterius, and she guided his large body into a easier resting position; his large head was the only thing poking out the ground, the rest of his body was constantly underneath the floors, hidden in a dark pool. Shadow Labrys rested her hand on his head and continued petting him as she ignored the hostility arising from another group.
"So Speedy, tell me about yaself. What do ya do? Ya work for anyone?"

"Hm...well, haven't gone much in a while. I might do my own thing for a bit. However, I do have a few good friends and allies."
Rubbing the chin of his helmet, a thought played across his mind...'I wonder where most of them are...though Desperado's here, at least.'
"But yeah. I kind of do whatever. I'm currently working on getting stronger and improving myself so I can actually help people in the event of something happening."

"That's good to h'ear. I'm sure if ya work h'ard enough ya will make your goal."
Looking around, a decent sized crowd had begun to congregate around this mysterious entity before them. Looking closer, she noticed many of them appeared as if they were lost. Maybe this entity brought them here?
But how could it do something like that? What even is it anyway?
Shadow Labrys sighed before looking back at Revved.
"Ey, uh, Rev. Do ya know anyone 'ere?"
She then leans in closer and whispers to him:
"Cause they're makin' quite a ruckus before this big thin' 'ere. Maybe we're bein' tested and we're already failin'."

The beast glanced back at Xion then as the other poked a bit of fun at him. K-414 gave a small derisive snort in the man's direction. "I don't even know what here is. All I know is I was hunting someone and then all of a sudden...I'm down here. Whatever this gaudy thing is," the beast growled, making a gesture up toward the building. He didn't really have any sort of...beef with Xion, not right now. There was something of a rivalry, at least on K's end. The two had fought a few times with K-414 never becoming the victor. Still, that didn't mean that he had to want to fight with the armored man all the time.
Just most of the time.
He then glanced back toward StrifeMan as the being approached, just as...uncontrolled as ever. K-414 found him amusing in the fact that he shared a similar mindset with the beast: fight until you die and then fight again until your need for battle is sated. As the thing prattled on, as it was prone to do, K-414 merely shook his head in its direction. "That fight was interesting for a moment. You unleashed everything upon me, aiming for deletion but I weatherd that storm. I respect that kind of ferocity," the beast growled, glancing over toward Merrill then, even though he didn't even know if the life energy wielding Navi even heard or saw him.
The beast rolled his shoulders then, before glancing back toward StrifeMan. "Any time you want to test your luck, you let me know. I'll be ready to take all the pain you can dish out at any time."

*Xion was a bit fond of it looking all fancy. To be fair, he had also had to live on the Dark Colony for a while. The decor there wasn't exactly gaudy, but it wasn't exactly what anyone would call special or nice. Just what you would expect of a place created from an dimensional demon. Was on the to-do list of patching, but that was a ways off from now. And while trading blows with the K-Series was always interesting because he was a fairly respectable opponent, that was something they could indeed save for another time. This 'gaudy thing' however, was home to someone else. It usually brought familiar faces, but he only recalled K-414 from the ones here, and all sorts could be gathered here. Including the vampire that sauntered over to them in a bit of an over the top fashion.*
"Still more interesting as a vampire than Purple was."
*He could comment about the age old vampire vs wolves thing, but he would let it slide instead. Looked like they more or less had it covered already in their sadomasochism. Were they going to indulge in it again or not was the question now. He figured they wouldn't, but hey, some folks liked to fight all the time. There were a few firebrands he could name that lived that way for the longest. Two of them shot actual fire as a bonus too.*
"K isn't very well versed in the terms of being more than boring. Hard to be interesting when most of what you do is ripping someone to shreds. Only so many ways to do it, you know?"
*At least when it came to being on the offensive. It was pretty standard. Rip and tear, gouge and maim. Sure he had good things going for him when he did, but the appearance of it was still pretty basic overall. A thing he was fond of, but also knew was a front for a beast who had his own share of ingenuity when he was in the mood for it.*

"Well, out of the people here, I know Desperado there, the cowboy, gunner navi. Besides him....nope. I don't know who any of these people are." Revved said with a shrug.
He listened closely as Labrys whispered, agreeing with her statement.
"Well, if anyone actually started fighting then maybe that'd count as a fail...but so far ones just seem like they're used to fighting. That's what I think anyway..."
"Hey, at least if we did wind up fighting something we've got a reliable bunch of fighters here." he continued on, topping off his statement with a smile that was visible even from behind his helmet.

Wandering into this area as well was a black-haired woman clad in a sligthly tight black bodysuit. With no visible way out and no real reason to leave, she'd stay for the openings of these massive gates, then continue to wander off onto who-knows-where after this was all said and done.
One or two of the others here may have recognized Feint, but she wasn't here to interact and wasn't here to stay after this event's conclusion.

Something-- someone blue and brown slowly floated past Feint from overhead. With their descent it seemed they'd come to a stop, but a single leg was all that was needed to have another floating bound toward the golden gates. Looking down he drifted above those closest to the gold gates.
Mm-hmm?
From the descent of his second jump, the "navigator" made a turn to his left. Behind a thick fluff of brown hair, others were glazed over quickly on the first full turn. With a second full turn the navi had come to a stop on the ground. Runes ran across the striped shirt the navigator wore, some flickering, some actually glowing and others duller than butter knives. But they all changed and went around like headline tickers.

Behind all those awaiting the opening of the gates, the land-bridge leading to the mythical island breaks free at both ends and slowly lowers itself into the golden sea below. While teleportation would still allow Navis to leave, no more would be allowed to enter without great difficulty.
A moment later, a large hourglass filled with golden sand rises from the ground before the gates, slowly but surely ticking down. As this happens, something strange happens; small amounts of Zenny begin to fall from the sky like a light trickle of rain. While not very plentiful, there would easily be enough for all to share. All Navis in the area receive 200zAs Shadow Labrys in particular gathers her funds, she finds something else among the zenny; a strange golden badge laying on the ground as if waiting for her to pick it up.Shadow Lebrys gains: Fortune Badge A special award for the greatly fortunate. Grants additional funds to the holder.Raises Zenny earned from battles by 10%. While this is not a battle, all Zenny earnings from the Gates of Fortune are boosted by this crest. Given as thanks for operating Vytrex. Vytrex begins scooping up the zenny in puzzled silence, looking skyward as the funds literally rain from the sky.
Vytrex: ...this was definitely not in today's forecast last I checked.
Vytrex shrugs and begins putting the Zenny into a pouch at his side. Why look a gift-horse in the mouth?Registration for the Gates of Fortune is now closed. The event will begin approximately one week from today. If you were too late to enter and still wish to join in, please send a PM or Discord private message to me with your request. If I am not too late in the final build for the gates, then I will do my best to accommodate your entry.List of Navis that have cleared entrance with me past registration and will be participating: Embera

At long last, the wait is over. Before the Navis gathered on the sacred island, the gates leading to nowhere open, bathing the entire area in a golden light. The warm yet nearly blinding rays cascade out in a shimmering spectacle of sight, while a warm and inviting voice resounds above it all with a welcome to bid all to enter. I am sorry to have kept you waiting for so long, please come in!Beyond the entrance, the Gates of Fortune unfold as a beautiful and majestic sight to behold. Laid out as if a great hall, the vast room holds countless treasures and areas of great beauty, not the last of which would have to be the hall itself, which is adorned with walls of gold, silver, and bronze, and floors of pure white marble. Along the main walkway area is a velvet carpet of crimson red, adorned on either side by a crystal clear aqueduct inlaid into the ground itself, each roughly ten feet deep and five feet wide with bridges running over them at even intervals. At the end of each indoor river is a waterfall pouring down from a lush, hanging garden tilled with vines and flowers from inlaid shelves above. Beyond the waterfalls and to each side of the hall lie great, golden vaults, four in total with two to each side, with each obviously numbered 1-4. Each is locked tightly and adorned by a border of the same velvet carpet that runs up the center of the area, as well as velvet mats just beyond the great, metal doors. Along the far ends of the hallway stand a set of six sets of knight-like armor. Three stand to each side standing at regular intervals, and each set bares a different appearance. The armor suits closest to the entrance are golden and hold swords between their gauntlets. The second set is silver with spears, and the final set closest to the back of the hall is adorned in bronze with shields. Above each suit of armor also hangs a tapestry of crimson velvet, with each set revealing a different scene. The golden suits of armor have images of the gates of fortune above them, the silver suits of armor have treasure chests above them, and the bronze suits of armor reveal golden halos on the wall. Between the golden vault lies a stage of sorts that rises near the back of the hall situated between the two waterfalls. On this stage stands a set of 13 unique chests, each made of a brilliant material and each more beautiful than the last; The first chest is forged of gold, shining brightly in the light from above. The second is polished silver, finely crafted with the greatest of care. The third is forged of bronze and inlaid with intricate scroll work and fine detail. The fourth is studded with diamond and reflects a prismatic shine. The fifth is made from platinum, reflecting pure white like a mirror. The sixth is of mahogany, polished with a deep and rich antique finish. The seventh is hewn of iron, with depictions of war and victory inlaid to its every side. The eighth is beautiful onyx, shining brightly despite its pitch black exterior. The ninth is inlaid with emeralds, giving off a beautiful, verdant green glow. The tenth is carved from a solid block of granite, as strong as it is beautiful. The eleventh is forged of the same pure white marble that makes up the floors of the halls themselves. The twelfth is covered with soft and rich velvet, the same kind that adorns the great vaults that stand on either side of the hall as well as the tapestries. The thirteenth and final chest is forged of volcanic obsidian, with a sharp and unique structure of great beauty. And all of this also ignores the most impressive feature of the gates; the walls and walkways are literally lined with piles of zenny and chests of various sizes and structures. The entire area is literally lined with countless treasures and a fortune for those willing to reach out and take for themselves! With the stage set and the contestants ready, the host of the event at last steps forward on the stage with the unique chests. Adorned in bronze armor similar to the ones worn by the knights on the side, his visage is detailed with the finest of materials; gold, silver, and even pure platinum. He stands at an average height and build, appearing to be nothing particularly special in regards to strength. On his back is a cape of red velvet with a large golden halo embroidered to it, similar to the halo that he wears in a manner similar to a headband around his deep red hair. However, the halo that he wears around his head seems to slowly yet constantly shift from being forged of gold, silver, and bronze. He stands with a smile and outstretched arms, looking on to all who have entered and finally bids his greeting. Welcome, one and all! I am Saint.EXE, and the beauty that you see before you is my greatest pride; the Gates of Fortune! As my guests, I ask that you give me your favor by sharing in my wealth! Please, take what you like and do your best to find all of the wonderful treasures that I have in store for those willing to reach out and take!
Welcome to the Gates of Fortune!!!As Saint yells out his welcome, the ceiling above literally opens up and the entire hall begins to rain Zenny, granting each Navi a sum to begin the game with. This would be a time to remember! All Navis in the area gain 500z!RULES:- Each Navi is allowed to perform one single action per turn; be it opening a chest, checking a pile of zenny, or anything else that you may choose to do.
- At the end of each post, you MUST post all earnings that your Navi has earned up to that point.
- Pay attention, as some points of interest may need special requirements to be made use of. A turn wasted on a point that does not have a use/cannot be used at that time will not be returned.
- Pay attention to what others do! If a specific point of interest is “taken”, then you may not interact with it! Each post made by Saint will have a list of main points still available to interact with.
- Think outside the box, and have fun!

As the Gates opened at last, Revved looked toward them in wonder and amazement. The sight that was revealed exceeded what he could've imagined! Had the voice not beckoned them to enter, he might've been standing there in awe for at least 5 minutes, tops.
Entering the gates, Revved glanced around at all of the riches and the entire area in the general, rubbing his helmet's visor as if to double-check that he wasn't simply seeing things.
As the navi known as Saint.EXE welcomed them all with a portion of his wealth, Revved gracefully accepted the zenny.
"Thank you for your hospitality,Saint." Revved spoke, thanking their host. He would've bowed, but that might've been a bit much he thought.
Eyeing the obvious treasures that had been laid out for them all, Revved couldn't help but be drawn toward something else in the area...and he hoped his intuition was 'on the money'...
Moving quickly, Revved climbed onto the stage and inquired about one of the sets of armor near the front.
======
Earnings thus far: 700z
Action: Inquiring about the Silver Armor
Edit: Almost forgot about that 200z before the gates opened...thanks,Warrior!

Well there was cetainly more behind those gates than met the eye. Much more, at that.
Feint walked calmly behind the others as they had enterred on ahead of her -- she wasn't particularly one to rush in anyway. Or so one would have thought, at least. When Saint gave them the "go ahead" to take from the treasures, she was the "no-questions-asked" type and stepped right up to stake her claim.
Four of the available chests were so massive that it would take two normal individuals to open it -- sounded like a good enough challenge to her. It felt a little dirty to take things without putting in at least a little work anyway, she figured.
The chest she had chosen definitely lived up to its claim, too. She'd put in enough effort trying to pry it open, but seemingly to no avail.
Now it was personal: This chest insulted her very strength by its refusal to budge. She was far too stubborn to let up now.
She grabbed one half of the lid in attempt to open it one corner at a time, which inadvertantly gave room for someone else to come up and help her with this task that she was fully convinced she could do by herself regardless.
Maybe it'd budge a little and she'd be able to slip her fingers into the crack just barely, but there was clearly no way she'd open this chest on her own and then be able to hold it open to swipe what was inside.
If all else failed, though, she figured blowing the chest apart with her gun was still a viable option as well...
... but she'd try for a little longer before resorting to that.

Feint's Earnings so far: 700z (Don't forget to include the post preceding the opening of the gates Wackoguy)

Merrill stood and watched all the others, as Saint appeared and began talking. He listened intently. As each treasure and Zenny pile appeared, he focused carefully to see who moved first: Feint. However, before anyone else spoke, he did, to Saint.
"Thank you, Saint, for offering us such gifts! I shall treasure them well!"
Feint immediately charged towards one of the chests. And Merrill watched for a minute as she struggled with it. Before anyone else had moved, most likely the others being riddled with decisions, Merrill walked briskly over to where Feint was struggling. He grabbed the other side of the chest and with a grunt, attempted to lift the lid... And nearly slipped and fell on his rear as he did so. He regained his composure, with a slight blush, knowing the quiet and angry woman would scowl at him. He hoped no one had seen his slight error. This time, he whipped out his bright wings, and pushed energy through his arms. As he began to lift, he nodded at Feint, adding his strength to hers. Together, they attempted to lift the lid. This time, as they worked together, Merrill spoke.
"Hello Feint. Good to see you again."
Merrill knew if anyone had a plan, it was Feint. They had fought together in the past many times before, both against each other, but more often on the same side. At this event, however, they were both the "loaners" in the group, quiet, and singled out, as almost everyone else was talking or getting to know each other. Merrill then turned to watch and see what the others would do, as they struggled to open the chest, and see their rewards...
Action: Lift lid of Chest A.

Total Earnings 700z.

StrifeMan.EXE
StrifeMan remains in his battle-ready position, dagger drawn and pointed teeth bared, for about another second before his lip twitches with the laughter in his throat.
He began to laugh, only to be rudely cut off by some grandiose voice echoing on the other side of the gates. Turning, dagger still in hand, StrifeMan glares at the speaking gates. "The only gates I listen to are the ones that don't rudely interrupt me!" StrifeMan shouts back, only to shy away as they begin to open, the resplendent rays that had been berating him this whole time getting all the brighter and all the more painful - both for his eyes and his skin.
Painful lesions whelped across his skin as the bright rays graced it, the cascading prominence making him hiss. It was, of course, not really all that painful - if anything, the pain felt rather nice. It didn't make it any less annoying, though.
The blinding lights began to die down around the same time that the voice calls across the void, again. As his eyes, used to the night as they are, finally adjust to the brightness, he sees some helical figure, dressed in something like a crusader's armor, with his arms outstretched, bidding them welcome.
Somehow, the blinding rays of light made it difficult to feel welcome.
As blinding as the shining man himself was, StrifeMan's eyes slowly but surely adjust to the sheer magnificence of the area, and he glares at the piles of zenny and assorted treasure chests with greed and envy.
"Oh-hohohohoo, I do love gifts! Surprises! Goooold!"
StrifeMan darts off, his speed not wrenched from him by the light as it usually was, grabbing a great sum of zenny from the copious amounts falling from the sky, and, in the same motion, speeds up the stage to stand in front of the obsidian chest. The others were pretty, but, this one was dark and foreboding.
Licking his dried, blood-crusted lips, StrifeMan reaches a sharp claw underneath the lid of the obsidian chest, cackling to himself as he opens the chest up.
"Oooh, what is it?! Zenny? Blood? Oh, oh, I know! . . ."
. . .
"It's stuck!" He tries to open the chest again, going at different angles, pushing up against it, and even blasting it with a series of bloody bolts of magic. None of that worked.
He is disappointed, to say the least. In a screech of rage, Strifeman stands back up and kicks the broad side of the chest.
Glorious pain arcs up his leg, but, the chest didn't even budge. Grumbling, StrifeMan steps off of the stage and tries to open one of the smaller chests, nearby.
