Appearance
Joker's casual form is that of a human man from Netfrica, statured with elephantine proportions, standing nearly eleven feet tall and possessing the muscle and girth one would think of a man with that kind of size. He wears a long-sleeved tunic that runs uninterrupted down to his knees, where it flares out into a robe, embroidered with a key design just under the neckline. He wears a pair of long, steel-toed boots that merge seamlessly with his under garment.
With the loss of his connection to the crimson satellite, Joker's own reserves of crimson energy are not as powerful, but his access to the power of Aeon within his core seem to have only intensified. The Endgame's might now fuels his unrivaled power, the reality mongering properties shifting the shade of the intense energy that roils off of his body from crimson to black, and giving the same color change to his seeming ability to resonate with other energies to attain an advanced combat state.
Personality
Joker is royally curt and to the point, surprisingly polite in his demeanor despite his no-nonsense attitude. He is loyal and dedicated to a fault, willing to follow any cause or plan he devotes himself to through to the very end, regardless of what that might mean for his own safety. Having lost his Satellite, and even full control of his Joker Program, Dread Joker now relies on his reality bending powers to relive a moment across a million different timelines for his data retrieval purposes, but is just as efficient at using the information he gathers. While he is incredibly loyal and more than willing to follow another's orders, he also has strong leadership capabilities in the fact that he is strong, level headed and has an overbearing focus on efficiency and completion of tasks - to Joker, there is no such thing as a grey area. Either the task was done right, or it may as well not been done at all.
His controlled, polite poise is a shell that hides a ruthless Navi beneath it, who is truly willing to do whatever it takes to prove his point. He has a thirst for violence and destruction that seems to know no bounds, and is more than willing to step in and cause mayhem where his involvement is in no way necessary. He causes pain and destruction because it is what he was built for, and it is what he enjoys doing. He has little, if any, emotions of his own, and is sadistic in his actions. He feels no remorse or otherwise for his victims, and instead takes great pleasure in knowing that he has eradicated many weak morsels from this existence. While sadistic, he is also hedonistic, and thoroughly looks forward to any challenging foe that could challenge his perfection.
It is within his philosophy that the weak deserve no place in existence, and, just like all of his other beliefs, he is more than willing to go to any ends to maintain and practice it. His sole purpose taken away from him, Dread Joker must find new meaning, or bring vengeance upon those that took it from him.
Background
Bugged Data is a dangerous force upon the Net that many people fear. They had no way of fighting against it when it first surfaced and, even in the current world, few people have any answers to pull up when a mass of bugged information suddenly begins eating away and corrupting everything it touches. The only thing that can be done is to either contain the damage and hope it goes away, or destroy it all immediately - and that isn't always an immediate fix.
A small group of scientists under the Animus Syndicate realized that bugged data was incredibly difficult to contain, but, incredibly easy to come across. Data could be easily corrupted or broken, and broken paths or links or incomplete system functions created bits of the stuff that, while harmless alone, eventually got way out of hand. The majority of the Syndicate's projects up to this point were pointed towards the eradication of bugged and viral data, and, while this has proven effective on the viral side, hardly anyone has any answers to bugged data. So, this group, headed by Alister King, began work on a program that would make Bugged Data a resource to control rather than an enemy to fear. Dubbing this project the Joker Project, due to their shared obsession with the game of Poker and their project being a wildcard, they first begin on a small little project that would simply create a piece of data that would survive in a compromised environment. In an isolated network, they purposefully generated a sizable amount of bug data, and put their first attempt of a program through the fire. At first, it seemed that it would hold; but, then, the program corrupted and practically fizzled out of existence.
After a few more failed attempts, the scientists began approaching from a different angle. Rather than change the composition of their programs to live within a corrupted environment, what if they could change the make-up of bugged data? The stuff was hardly anything worth working with, but, if normal data could be used to create solid digital structures, why couldn't they try it with bugged data? The process was grueling and involved many failures, as the bugged data wasn't very malleable, but, they eventually figured out that bugged data simply couldn't be turned from one state into another - a large quantity of the stuff had to be present to be condensed into a solid mass. The bugged data, when solidified like this, took on deep shades of red or black - and, so, they dubbed this new digital material "Crimson." While it took massive amounts of bugged data to be condensed to make even the smallest amount of crimson, once the data was transferred, it became incredibly stable and durable, making it nearly impossible for the scientists to revert it back into just raw Data, and practically impervious to all but the strongest of attack methods. The Crimson also took up much, much less space on the Net, as the compression of the bugged data within it made it a smaller file size, despite the bugged data within its core still being readable - it was like it created a small little server within the net, where the server took up a little amount of space compared to the massive amounts of data held within the server. The bugged data was difficult to convert, but, was more than worth the effort once the team realized how stable the data could become.
Once their project launched off, the Syndicate funded the Joker Project, and the team began working harder. Crimson was found to not release any bugged data from its core at all, despite being entirely comprised of it. Crimson is just solidified bugged data - despite its contents, it does not exude any bug data at all, and is incredibly compressed. It does not ever release bugged data or cause glitches to its surroundings. Instead, Crimson is capable of controlling bugged data, absorbing it in large quantities and repurposing it through means of reprogramming, reinforcing existing data and even granting resistance to or full control over bugged data. Its uses as a tool were nearly limitless, but, its usefulness as a weapon were equally abounding.
Once Crimson absorbed bugged data, the compressed information was made much easier to handle - however, bugged data retrieved from inside of crimson was many times larger and much, much more dangerous than the amount of crimson that was stored within it. A single megabyte of bugged data was absorbed by a crystal of crimson for testing, and, when the crimson released the data, it released it many dozens of times larger than the amount of data that was placed within it, and the bugged data was much more focused, almost like a beam of destructive power. While Crimson itself posed no danger to an environment within the net, and it did not naturally release its stored contents, once the Crimson releases the bugged data, it becomes incredibly dangerous.
Because Crimson was incredibly adaptable and even, they found, programmable, their next step was creating a program that could regulate bugged data in the environment, so that it could exist in an environment full of normal data. It would absorb trace amounts of the stuff in the air, and was built using parameters from their first failed tests - once it reached a certain threshold, it would immediately condense all of its stored data into a small shield of crimson around itself. The constant exposure to the crimson eventually left this program incredibly adapted to the adverse environment, and the crimson shield protected it from further harm in the area; not to mention that it was still collecting and building more. To make the program even more efficient, they took the basic coding of it and just transferred it directly into a condensed stream of Crimson. The Program was named the Joker Program; the first in human creation that could regulate bugged data and provide a defense mechanism and adaptability against this otherwise incredibly destructive force.
They placed the Joker Program into an enclosed network filled with normal data, and put in a small amount of Bugged data to see what would happen. The Joker Program regulated the bugged information and condensed it into a small block of crimson, which it attached to its own already existing cloud of the stuff, and just free floated in the environment, the program's functions working to keep the bugged data from harming the environment as it made the full shift to the harmless crimson. Not a single bit of data around it was corrupted.
Seeing their efforts as a gigantic success, the group took their final step forward - implementation of the program into a Navi. They crafted a really simple Navi design and implemented the program, and, while successful, the Navi couldn't really do anything with the Crimson once it was made. If anything, the Navi had a resource that it couldn't do anything with.
So, they realized that they would have to build a Navi with the express purpose of utilizing this new power and resource. And it would be made entirely out of their newly discovered, programmable material. Because the Joker Program was designed to absorb all forms of corrupted data, the created Navi would be able to process information at a much faster pace than normal navis. This Navi would also be designed to put the both raw bugged information and Crimson to the best use, and would utilize the incredible power that bugged data had to offer in terms of creation, durability, adaptability and offensive capability. This resource was also an effective weapon as, at any time, the Navi would be able to release the volatile material from his system controls to properly utilize it as a destructive force on the environment, while maintaining full control of its destructive nature. When they were finally finished with his design, as a gargantuan, human-like Navi of pure destruction and durability, to mimic the substance he was made from, they named the Navi after the Program that he was designed to utilize - Joker.
In his already vast access to digital knowledge, due to his connection to the Syndicate's servers, Joker was already a very smart Navi. In a few short seconds of his cognitive activity, Joker was given his prime directive - his purpose: To utilize his resource as a tool to cleanse the Net of lesser, corrupted, degenerate data. After flexing around his power and testing him out in combat, the team felt that Joker was a gigantic success. But, then, his inquisitive mind started searching. He accessed their server, his crimson eating through their fire walls like it was cotton candy, in search of something that he sensed was akin to himself. He tracked it back to a small connection gate to a satellite that orbited the planet, keeping as close to another, larger satellite in the distance as possible. He connected with the first satellite, and, then, connected with the massive satellite.
This satellite is presumed to contain a super computer that had bugged and glitched out, and was full of bugged information collected from all around the world. Parts of the data had naturally condensed into crimson within it, and, due to the fact that it causes horrific system errors and glitches to anything that comes close to it, as well as its quantum processing speed, the satellite is impossible to properly monitor or otherwise analyze. Because of Joker's nature, he could freely interact with the satellite. As soon as he was connected, he severed his connections through the other routes, and just synced fully with this massive server in the stars.
Afraid of what this might mean, his team pulled the plug and shut Joker down. Part of his program was held within the Satellite Server, now, though, and shutting him down was not that easy - in a few short minutes, he brought himself back online. In his stupor, they had taken from him his Joker Program, and, while he could bring himself back online, he was otherwise cut off from his Satellite Server. Furious, as this had been his purpose, Joker tore through their servers again and looked for what could be found. After finding what he was looking for, Joker left the Animus Syndicate behind, intent on completing the purpose they had given him - to destroy lesser beings, utilizing his Crimson Satellite.
His personal memory reserves are hardly large enough to contain all the information he siphons from his surroundings and, while his data reserves are constantly expanding, he prefers to fully sync with the database of the Crimson Satellite Server, utilizing its own vast collection as both a resource and a storage access.
His Crimson Satellite is his purpose. To connect to that vast resource of bugged data and utilize it as a tool is his reason for being, and the server is just as much part of him as he is of it. After leaving the traitorous Animus Syndicate, Joker began looking for others who could join him in his purpose.
These efforts eventually lead him to attempt to join the ONB, looking for a purpose, looking for a higher calling and for a cause to devote his naturally loyal programming to. Atop that roof, Dread Joker pledged himself to the cause of his new teammates, only to be pushed to betray them by an invading armada that threatened everything he held dear. Little did he know that his attempts to garner power to prevent them from following through with their threat would be exactly as he expected of them; even despite his analytics telling him they were wrong, he couldn't risk his analytics being wrong.
He sprung his own trap, his own machinations turned against him, and found a crushing defeat before the Crimson Dragon, freshly after absorbing the power of the Eternal Endgame's programming, Aeon, and using that incredible power, alongside the satellite's destructive might, to annihilate Creamland. A being, whose name Joker still does not know, came and took the satellite away from him, absorbing the power of the Crimson Dragon and taking his purpose out of the sky in the process.
Without that power, Dread Joker turns the might of the Joker Program elsewhere, the adaptable program capable of resonating with intense energies of any kind to assimilate battle data. The power of the eternal endgame within his core, Aeon, funnels his powers unrivaled, and supplies him with a new aesthetic, form, and power, as his own programming adopts new parameters to use it more efficiently.
