There are a few special features to the Battle System that make it even more challenging:

TOURNAMENT
The Net is on peril yet again.
Its inhabitants are ill-prepared to defend it.
Their strength alone cannot overcome the evil that is rising, so their wisdom must become their weapon. Their wisdom must be tested and built, so that when a force stronger than one's self comes against them, they may defeat it not by brute force, but by tactically outwitting their opposition.
A battle is not won by the strength of the weapon, but by the cunning of the warrior.

OVERVIEW
[/size][/font] The winner of a MMM Tournament is most often dependent on who has the highest version. And if not that, than it comes down to who's spent the most Zenny on their Navi. Most of the time, the winner is obvious from the beginning -- people can easily foresee who will be the champion, and who will be swept aside.
In this tournament, though, that is not the case.
Every entrant is given an equal chance of victory -- success will be determined by your strength of strategy, not by your strength of resources.
As such, your stats will be preset to a degree, using a new system specifically designed for this tournament. While it has many features of the MMM's system, it is not, in fact, a part of the MMM, and thus you will not get any rewards from your battles except the ones that are granted to you by your success in the tournament.
You may keep up to 3 of your Navi's Attacks as Special Emulations, but only 1 may be used per battle, and certain effects will be removed from them. You will be able to select 3 preset Skills, 5 preset Normal Attacks, and 9 Battle Chips before each Round of the Tournament.
Every Battle will be fought blindly. Additionally, you have permission to completely change your stats from one round to the next to enhance the ambiguity of later rounds.
Even if you lose the first Round, you will still gain Exp and Zenny for trying. To those it may concern, all of the EXP given out in the event will be deducted from Raze, and all of the additional Zenny given out (not covered by the entry fee) will be deducted from Warrior.
None of my navis will be entering this Tournament, since I am the host.

RULES
[/size][/font]• You can only enter 1 Navi
• You must pay 1,000zto enter the tournament
• You may keep 3 Attacks from your Navi as SE's
• You may only use 1 of your SE's per battle
• You must choose 3 Skills, 5 Attacks, and 9 Battle Chips, from my list as outlined below
• You must PM me (Remnant) with your selections when you're finished, using the following format:
----------------------------------------------------------
Entrant: [Your Navi's Name]
Element: [Element]
Skills: [Skill 1], [Skill 2], [Skill 3]
Attacks: [Atk1], [Atk2], [Atk3], [Atk4], [Atk5]
Battle Chips: [Chip1], [Chip2], [Chip3] ... [Chip9]
SE: [SE 1], [SE 2], [SE 3]
ATK PATTERN: [Insert]
• I will then respond with your Stats Sheet fully expanded
• It may take some time for you to fully decide how you want to set-up your Navi. Once you've set it up, you can still PM me any changes you want to make before the battle begins
• The Sign-Ups will be closed in a week (11-14-12) -- you can reserve a spot by simply PM'ing me the Entrant's name, and then send me the stats later. This will actually help me set up the brackets sooner, so please do it.
• You have 3 Days to make each Battle Post. If you miss a turn (and you give me no warning), I'll randomize your turn (which could result in trying to dodge an undodgeable attack, or unwanted stuff like that).
• If you miss 2 Turns in one battle, you automatically lose.
• If you foresee an absence of greater than 3 days, let me know and we'll arrange something.
• If you have any questions, PM me. Do not make any posts in this thread (at all), please.

BATTLE INFO
[/size][/font]You may notice that Attack Slots are mentioned nowhere in the template -- nor is Base Damage, HP, Armor, Program Slots, Kaizou, or anything of the sort.
These battles aren't going to be determined by those things -- they won't be determined by what you have, they're determined by what you know.
There are a few flashy tricks you can still pull, even though the system is moderately strict. I put them in purposefully, of course, but I also left some more easy-to-see techniques for those less-adapt with the system. Intentionally, the more rewarding tactics are the ones more difficult to piece together in this puzzle-like battle system.

There are a few special features to the Battle System that make it even more challenging:
• All Battles are fought blind, using stats from a PM that I share with you (to ensure there is no cheating)
• Your Attack Slots may vary from turn-to-turn, depending on your "Attack Pattern"
• At the beginning of each battle, 2-4 Special Conditions will be declared. The first navi to satisfy these conditions will be the only navi to reap its benefits.
• As the Tournament advances, less resources will become available for you.
Any part of the MMM's Battle System not referred to in this Event does not apply to it.
Unless otherwise stated, all Dmg+ Effects and Dmg- Effects are applied on a per-hit basis.
Natural Dodges are locked.
Stage Skills are the same as usual, but they can only be summoned by a Speed Skill or by fulfilling certain Special Conditions. Here are the ones we'll be using, for those who don't have access to view them already:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Repair: (Normal Stage) Normal Element No effect. Basic Stage, automatically active at the beginning of battle. Lasts until stage is changed. Grass Stage: Wood Element Wood Navis gain 150 HP/turn; When a Fire Element attack is used it deals x1.5 damage, gains Hits all, and the stage becomes Normal. Lasts 3 turns. Ocean Stage: Aqua Element Non-Aqua Navis have -1 attack slot and their first dodge each turn costs 2 skill uses (instead of 1). Fire Navis take 100 Aqua Element damage/turn. Lasts 3 turns. Lava Stage: Fire Element Non-Fire navis take 100 Fire Element damage/turn. Fire Element attacks deal x1.1 damage and Fire Element navis gain 100 HP/turn. Lasts 3 turns. Magnet Stage: Elec Element When the stage is set, the user chooses C or S. Blade and Metal Element attacks of that range can't be used, other non-Elec attacks of that range lose one aimer (of the attacker's choice). Elec Navis have +1 attack slot. Lasts 2 turns. |
